Hurts as your QB?

That's Treon Harris 1.5.... Literally a small step up from from Treon.... And he's a true freshman.

God speed..

Makes me happy that you posted this. You and peej are butt brothers aren't you?

Some of your best work:

Someone didn't watch Blake Sims Spring game.

Qb order yesterday when media wasn't around was
Bateman
Hurts

Bateman will start it off and Hurts will play as well. Hurts is a far cry from Harris sorry bud.

This is such a nice thread to read. Who knew L5U fans could be so wrong. Guess they'll be right this year though.....

If they don't beat us this year, I'm not sure when they'll be in as good of a position to do so. They're losing the majority of their key players after the season and next year in TTown could get ugly like the '13 and '15 games. And even though the '18 game will be in BR, they'll be starting a very young QB which is not Les' strength at all.

If you'd chill out with the race baiting for a bit and watch the tape that's out there with your objective glasses on, it's not a terrible comparison. Hurts that played in the spring game was making throws on the run down the field and finding running lanes against our #1 defense. Hurts in the spring, 6 weeks post-high school graduation, was light years better than Treon Harris against our #1 defense in the SECCG. So no, it's a stupid comparison.

Quite frankly, if we are comparing a QB to Treon Harris the correct one would be Bateman. He doesn't throw it well down field, throws a bunch of check downs and has relatively good speed and quickness. But we all know why that wasn't made.

Hmm, let's to a little research and see how the last couple of Bama starters did in their spring games.

Blake Sims 2014
13/30 - 43%
178 yds - 5.9 yards per attempt
1 TD 2 INT

Jake Coker 2015
14/28 - 50%
183 yds - 6.5 yards per attempt
1 TD 1 INT

Jalen Hurts 2016
11/15 - 73%
120 yds - 8 yards per attempt
1 TD 0 INT

So, after looking at these stats you're actually right. Hurts is indeed no Sims or Coker. If you can predict a season based on spring game performance alone he's a hell of a lot better - and all Sims and Coker did was win 2 SEC and 1 national title.

In the words of tRant, prepare thy anus. What's coming really, really hurts.

Deja vu. We are told every year that Alabama's QBs suck (McElroy couldn't even beat out JPW, McCarron was horrible in the Spring Game, Sims is a converted RB, Coker was a lightly recruited guy that flamed out at FSU and couldn't beat out a converted RB) and every one of them ends up productive and winning a championship.

Same this year - all the sudden Sims and Coker were some prize QBs that can't be replaced. Maybe this will be the year. I'm sure eventually Alabama will have a true liability at QB that kills the team.

You've got more pressing problems to worry about...like why is Florida starting a QB that couldn't make it at Alabama.

I LOVE reading old threads. A few folks said Bama was built to stop LF, but there were a ton that just knew he'd rush for +150 on that Bama D.

Seriously, at this point does it matter? I guess he could be the one who gives them a "normal" year. But if Blake Sims can take them to the playoffs and Jacob Coker can win an NC they don't even need to give scholarships at QB.

Helluva idea! It'd give us more scholarships to offer at other positions....and we need that.
