Would love to see Rick and WKU face Miss St for the title. How do Miss St fans feel about Rick’s success?

Don’t really care but would pay to see the melt by some of our fan base should we face them in the final and lose

I like Stansbury. Exellent coach. Some of our fans might have a hard time but not me. Stans did a good job for a long time before things went really sour. I think it would be fun.

A bulldog in Greenwood, SC? How’d you pull that off? I didn’t think they let any outsiders in without a day pass. Not an awful place, but man it feels like it’s in the middle of no where....

Anyway...don’t think we will melt if we lose to Stan’s. He was good for us...just not good enough (we thought until Rick Ray took over)

Rick channels Bill Clinton when he talks. Sounds just like him.

Thought he did a good job while at MSU.

I love Starkville today. It's really grown the right way especially last 10 years. I hope to move there one day.

I wish him well. He didn't do us wrong in any way. He let the program get away from him in the end, but I have way too many good memories of his teams during my 4 years at state to be mad at him. Would love to play his team. Hope he has success, except when we play him.

Love Stans and what he did for State when he was here. I always wish him success. If he beat us, that's fine because I trust that Howland has us in a good spot. If we lost to Rick Ray, you'd see a melt unlike anything you've ever seen.

Hell yeah I want to face them in the finals. Where else am I going to wear my vintage 2004 Rick’s Rowdies t-shirt???

Thankful for Stans. Won the SEC west a couple of times with em and gave us success. Glad he playing against us in NIT and not at an SEC school like A&M anymore.

He just couldn't put together those teams for a solid run in the tournament and he had the talent for a solid run some years..

Exactly. If there’s any coach you could pick to play in the postseason, Stansbury would be your guy. Love him, and love what he did for State over the years, but he sucks in the postseason.

I think he did a great job over 22 years as an assistant and HC.
The Sidney fiasco did him in at the end but he is a tremendous coach and recruiter. I think WKU is in good shape for a long time to come. At his age, I just don’t see him going to another school. Plus they are a tradition rich program.

It would be cool to play them in the finale if it works like that.

I am happy for him.

Uhmm he did more than that. And he also won several Sec tourney championships and an outright SEC title.

I think you'll find most if not all MSU fans are happy Stansbury is doing well and we all want to face him for the NIT championship. Couldn't ask for a more interesting/entertaining matchup for the NIT title. We both gotta win one more though for it to happen. Everyone is rooting for both teams to set up the epic finally.

I seriously fricking hate the fact that we have Kennedy as our coach instead of Rick Stansbury.

Rick is a good coach but he will never be able to win consistantly on a big stage, he cant deal with the personality types it takes to do so.

He is best off at a mid major where players expect to be in school 4 years and are easier to coach, just the way it is.

i appreciate his time at MSU but the rules being what they are just does not work out in his favor.

I always liked him and glad to see him have success, as long as it isn’t in the SEC. I also used it love seeing his wife and kids in the stands being the team’s biggest fans. I wasn’t happy with how it ended with him. You never like to see a relationship with a coach/family end like that but it had to happen at that point. He went out on a limb with Renardo Sidney and lost control and could never get it back.

He took a chance on getting over the seeet 16 hump and it didn’t pan out and it eventually cost him his job and set our program back years. I’m glad he did take the chance though and didn’t just sit back and try to be happy with winning 20 games a year, and I’m glad both parties seem to be on the road to recovery.
