Yes but the rule says on or WITHIN the basket or BACKBOARD. The ball, if you drew a rectangle straight out from the backboard, was clearly within that space

I do
Are you not aware they caused the vibration while the ball was "on" the backboard?
Because they did

The game is over. Let's move on.

yeah, the interference rules haven't changed since 2011, as has been discussed
Posted on 2/13/19 at 8:59 pm to GatorsGators
Yea, but you still left off the only part of the rule that applied and ignored the video showing it was WITHIN the backboard while it was being shaken

Yes, they have

Violations- Basket Interference. (Rule 9-17.2.5). Basket interference occurs
when a player causes the basket or backboard to vibrate when the ball is on or
within the basket or the backboard and/or is on or in the cylinder.

the rules on offensive interference haven't changed, although I guess "e" was added somewhere and I missed it
But the "arm through the rim" isn't nearly as clear-cut in that scenario as the offensive interference.

I wouldn't go that far.
Look where it hit the backboard.
Was BI on UK though. I slowed down the video and the ball is above the imaginary cylinder when he smacks it and it continues shaking as the ball goes down.

ok, yes, I did miss that addition
a through d haven't changed, though

Well isn’t that convenient since a through d weren’t the ones violated. Let’s say someone was murdered with a knife. That’s like saying the law for murder hasn’t changed. Ok I did miss the change that included knives, but the ruling for guns didn’t change so what I say still stands. Your logic doesn’t even make sense

He had an outdated rule book
Mistakes happen
Not that big a deal man

Ok but why mention a through d haven’t changed when those weren’t the rules in question. I was just providing an example of similar logic. Not at all stating that this was near as serious as a murder case or even a similar situation. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Oh really?

b. Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has the ring as its lower base;
c. Reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before it enters the cylinder; or
d. Pulls down a movable ring so that it contacts the ball before the ring returns to its original position.
Art. 3. A player may have a hand legally in contact with the ball, when this contact continues after the ball enters the cylinder or when, in such action, the player touches or grabs the basket.

Copied verbatim. Not missing anything or picking and choosing rules to fit a narrative. You're welcome. And welcome to 2019.

A few points to make about the game last night.
1. Kentucky Fans...you lost. Get the frick over it.
2. If we're gonna play the "it's not fair" game, then we can discuss how many fricking fouls were not called on Kentucky for damn near the whole game. I guess over the back foul on a rebound is ok to do in Lexington, Kentucky.
3. The norm for LSU this season has been to battle back in just about every game and bring the game to OT, ultimately winning. They have experience playing in a tight situation. Kentucky does not. Even if the basket is erased, why is it assumed that Kentucky wins given that point?

The Kentucky player hit the backboard and stuck his hand through bottom of net while the ball was on the backboard.

LSU wins by 10+ if it goes to OT.
