Allowing sissy boy McCarron to pass for close to 300 yards, gaining only 1 first down through 3 quarters, making it past midfield only once the entire game, and gaining fewer total yards offensively than Trent Richardson had on the ground... is... beating yourself?

Absolutely. Hell, we did the same for half the Georgia game. NOBODY saw this as a possible senario? NOBODY?

I don't recall seeing anyone predict LSU to be shut out and shut down.

LSU didn't help themselves any - that's for sure. But that kind of beating is not a result of "beating yourself". Beating yourself is missing a field goal, dropping passes, blowing coverage assignments, too many penalties, etc...

Ware dropped a couple passes. The play calling was vanilla. The defense played great against a very well coached, and well prepared, Bama offense. TR looked like an angry beaten step child running the ball.
It hurts me to say this... but Bama came in to our house and beat us. Worse than we beat them in theirs. Saban got his 3rd title. Congrats.
11/3/2012. We meet again. Saturday night. Death Valley. Get ready Bama. Without TR, you're proper fricked.

You'll lose half your defense to the draft, at least the secondary... So when Mettenberger hangs 350/3 on you, I'll have two words to say.

Actually, several Bama fans were DEAD ON with this prediction. (plus or minus a few Bama points)

they played without TR all the way up to the 1 play he broke in the 4th. Lacey was running the ball very well (that spin move was sick). I say without any offense coaching changes, 11-3-12 could look very similar to 11-5-11 and 1-9-12 for your offense.

Restoring Order-courtesy LSU

LSU could have taken a dive in the SECCG, and kept Bama out....LSU to NCG vs. OK State and Georgia as SEC Champ to Sugar (odd). It would be a bitchmove for a college, but not unusual in NFL, to avoid a team you don't want to replay.
Glad it ended the way it did though. Best team won....both times.

Just like the coaches and human-poll voters in the BCS who took a dive putting Oklahoma State at 5th or 6th, when they were #3 everywhere else, including the BCS, but would have finished #2 if these selfish assholes had voted them #3 instead of FIFTH OR SIXTH.....

Um, I think we kind of did it to ourselves (if that's possible).

Well, y'all damn sure made a huge contribution to Bama arse raping you by literally bending over, and many times just laying down and taking it. I thought Tigers had more fight in 'em.

we do have our best lineman back and only 1 lineman to replace. which will be done by the highest rated tackle in last years recruiting class.

LSU saying they "beat themselves" is denial in it's highest form.

LSU certainly could have done better on offense but I don't see you scoring more than 10pts no matter what you do. We had 15pts in FG's of which several could easily have been TD's (Hanks drop at the goal line and Smelly dropped wide open pass on 10). I think LSU played as good a defense as possible and we still scored 21.

Or LSU would have gotten left out and saved themselves the embarrassment. And had an excuse to bitch and moan from now until the end of time because y'all were left out.

Yeah, in a way it's a good thing for LSU. Kind of like Bama after Utah. Nothing like getting your arse handed to you to let you know where you are deficient.

I posted on several occasions that LSU would not score offensively and possibly we'd shut them out completely. I based it on their poor passing game (105 passing rank), our dominating defense, and the fact that they only got 3 offensive pts in regulation in the first game. It wasn't that hard to see.

I also posted that if LSU didn't get pressure on AJ he would torch the LSU secondary. Specifically targeting the Honey Badger because he was the weak spot.

I also posted that CLM needed to play JL but probably wouldn't because he didn't in the UGA game and his poor record versus Bama.

All this above was VERY clear to me and I posted about it before the game many times. I have felt all year that Bama was a 10-14 pt better team than LSU even after Nov5. Stats don't lie and usually dictate the flow of a game. The one thing I did not see what that CLM would have that poor a game plan. This was his biggest game of the year and you would think he would have some cool play to counter our defense.

10-14 points?
But LSU won ....at BD stadium. That was Saban's 'one game' for 2011 that he failed in. Good call on the rest though...

Yes, of course LSU won Nov 5. My point is that Bama is 10-14 pts better but there's at least a 10-14pt variation in potential outcomes. So, we can end in regulation tied or win by 21. That's +- 10.5 with an average Bama win of 10.5.
