Bama is just a poverty version of Georgia under Richt at this point. The expansion has accomplished its goal...to ensure big money programs remain relevant even when they aren't championship caliber

It was never about that. Its about inclusion and expanding away from the haves to the have nots. Watch out what happens next. There's a lot of talk about evening out the TV revenue to take money from the SEC and the B1G and give it to the group of 5. Its just not fair that James Madison doesn't have the same resources that SEC teams have. Who cares if no one watches them on TV and they have a shitty schedule. Its just not fair.

BTW, a 4 team playoff using the BCS model would’ve been in this order : IU, OSU, UGA, Oregon. A winner from amongst them would be a solid natty champ.

Alabama is 2-1 over that fat Lesbo Kirby and UGA over the last 2 seasons

Correct, It allows teams who, even if incredibly talented, did not achieve a championship caliber season to still have a chance to "get hot" and perhaps win a title. Ohio State proved this last season.

I thought 4 was perfect. Look at UGA in 2023. Losing the conference title game was falling short of a championship caliber season, and they just missed the playoff. The problem was in the very first year of the playoff we had the rare situation where 5 "top" conferences had deserving conference champs, so the B12 got screwed and the talk of expansion began immediately. Look back at every other 4 team playoff and tell me that the 5th team didn't have a pitfall in their season that you could point to and say that's why you can't play for a title.

Football is going to become like the NCAA tournament. Entertaining but actually bad at crowning a deserving champion often.

Yes.

Completely.

Richt was 3-3 against Alabama with 2 of his 3 wins coming against Shula and Francione

2 of Debores has come against peak Lesbo.

That lesbo just shoved you in a locker. You are a fringe top 10 team nowadays just like Richt's teams. Without the expanded playoff you wouldn't be relevant. Just own it.

Alabama has the exact same number of wins as UGA in the expanded playoff and owns a winning record against Lesbo Kirby since the expanded playoffs inception

Fringe top 10 team. Some years you'll make it, some not. Like the Vols.

Were it not for expanding to 12 you'd be irrelevant and declining a bid to the Realiquest Bowl

I don’t agree with this. Bama is fully committed to competing and they will. But the shine is certainly off. The mystique is nearly gone for now. The current crop of Bama players are still living off the accomplishments of guys who are gone. They have all the arrogance and none of the hardware.

You’ve got scoreboard for now but you’re 2-10 the last 12 games and 5-13 the last 18 games vs Bama’s “poverty” program. You haven’t beaten Bama in the state of Alabama in 18 years. Bama has beaten UGA NINE times in Georgia in that time frame. Have a seat in the corner, kid.

It was solely about money and not individual programs.

Same teams and same conferences most years. Expansion provided more reps from broader regions that draw more interest in parts of the country where it had been waning. Broader expansion also saved the major bowls in years when they wouldn't be on the 4 team rotation for the 4 team playoffs. The NY6 bowls, not hosting, were also affected by opt outs and loss of viewership.

Cutting bowls would seem the obvious choice to increase their importance, but I am sure the financials work out that a 3/4 empty stadium in an obscure bowl game between two FCS level quality teams makes sufficient ad revenue.

There isn't a decision that conference leadership makes that does come back to $$$. It does help established teams, but wasn't done solely to protect those traditional powers.

You ever go to the Masters? You are like National Hills...the neighborhood outside of Augusta National. Used to be a very nice area, even highly desirable many years ago. but the poverty crept in and now it's metheads walking around, section 8 rentals and stabbings. Because you used to be at the top of the hill doesn't change your current status.

Georgia fans reminding me of 2019 LSU fans.

You have some success, but rather than being content with that, you start to compare yourself to Alabama's past, realize you come up way short. In order to compensate you start making stupid claims like this.

Meanwhile you've won 1 of your last 3 in the past 2 years. 2 of your past 6 that have been played from 2021 forward. Which can then be extended back another 10 years before you find another Georgia win.

Must suck to win and still feel empty.

Kirby can't beat Alabama until multiple other teams gave him the game plan and Alabama is riddled with injuries.

During which time you've done little to nothing. You are living in that past, but it's gone and in the present you are closer to the Vols with respect to accomplishments and national relevance. That's gotta sting.

You were great, now you are mid. It is fun watching you try to deny that.

Riddled LOL...OK. I forgot you are the only team that gets hurt. Here's the thing, elite teams still stack depth and get better as the year goes on. They don't suddenly rush for negative yardage when one back goes down. Mid program now. Embrace it
