Well for one Saban and LSU had just (with the backup QB) beaten a vastly superior Tennessee team to win the SEC and then kicked the shite out of Big 10 champ Illinois in the Sugar Bowl. Two, LSU was 6-1 and had just destroyed UF in the Swamp when Matt Mauck had a season ending injury.

No but I remember that day that Brian Kelly accepted the LSU job, flew to Baton Rouge with his wife and kids, had an introductory press conference, toured the entire LSU facilities and campus, met most of the LSU coaches and administrators, had dinner with LSU officials and finally said a few words at halftime of an LSU basketball game. This was when he slurred the word fam-I-ly. He never faked an accent. Why the retards on the Rant and in some media outlets keep lying about this is perplexing. Perhaps because they are I-di-ots.

Of the 9 SEC football teams with winning SEC records in the final 2024 standings, only 3 of the head coaches are from southern states: AL, Ark, SC. There's a ND, SD, Neb, NJ, Mass, and CA.
