Maybe it's because we lost, dunno but it is definitely a fairly minor event in A&M football history.
ETA: Also, given our recent bowl history to us it's 'just another bowl loss'.

Back in 2001 there weren't half the bowls there are today.
Both State and Ole Miss were left out of bowls with 7-4 records in the late 90's

I do like the jerseys. They are 100x better than the awful Egg Bowl jerseys y'all have.

It isn't the fact that we won the Independence bowl.
It was just a memorable game where we decided to wear all white for the first time, and then it came a freaking blizzard in Shreveport.
Jackie Sherrill was playing against his old school, and we came back from 14 down to win in OT. It was just a memorable game, the tier of the bowl is irrelevant.

True. But I remember when we went to the Independence Bowl for a couple of years straight, State fans made fun of us relentlessly for it.

Just curious, do the Aggies consider any or all of these as MAJOR bowl wins:
2011 Texas Bowl
2001 Galleryfurniture.com Bowl

Because if the above bowl wins were my team's ONLY bowl wins in twenty years, I don't think I'd start a big thread making fun of another team's "MINOR" bowl wins.
Especially true when your team was the opponent in that MINOR bowl, were grateful to be there and still didn't win it.

We were left out of a bowl in 2001 with a 7-4 record, and Alabama was taken for the Indy bowl with a 6-5 record.
