Again, attendance isnt a factor because it isnt like the park is at capacity for games unless it is bama or auburn playing each other or vs lsu/msu..

The Met is an older facility in the woods.. Im pretty sure bham could build an rv park at somepoint if needed

"Birmingham is frickin miserable"

The Birmingham area on its worst day completely sh### all over Baton Rouge and every other city in Louisiana not named New Orleans. There is literally nothing that Baton Rouge has that Birmingham doesn't other than a sh#### casino and an SEC campus. What Bham lacks with not having an SEC university is made up by having one of the most prestigious medical research and primary care schools in the country. The University of Alabama School of Medicine (aka UAB Medical School) by itself produces more research dollars than all Louisiana based colleges and universities COMBINED.

It would have a bigger economic impact on Hoover as compared to the hood in Birmingham. I would put my money on Hoover's bid if they are able to keep up the stadium for this major event. We enjoy and will probably go as long as it's in Hoover. Won't go if it's in Birmingham.

This is why the SEC Tourney will move to bham.. People are arguing about capacity when the tourney barely exceeds 2k for a game.. It will be moved to Regions Park.. Regions isnt a sponsor of The Met..

Regions is the official bank of the SEC with it's headquarters downtown and with it's name on the new park..

they average well over 2k per game. Most years they set records from the previous turn out.

You realize more than one game are played during a session? I only went to the MSU/LSU game last year. The crowd was abysmal and could be held at a smaller park.

And it was session 5.

Somewhat familiar. Again:

Win - Stratton (11-1). Loss - Broussard (4-1). Save - Holder (8). HBP - by Stratton (Nola Au). Pitches/strikes: Stratton 92/63; Reed 27/15; Holder 8/7; Nola Aa 30/19; Bonvillain 20/14; Berry 9/4; Broussard 48/33; Rumbelow 6/3; Cotton 11/6; Bourgeois 19/9.

Umpires - HP: Barry Chambers 1B: Jeff Head 2B: Tony Walsh 3B: Terrence Mobley
Start: 12:53 Time: 2:33 Attendance: 7019
Weather: Sunny, warm Game notes: Stratton earns 11th win, 10th quality start in 3-2 win over top-seeded LSU ... Reed, Holder combine to retire last nine LSU batters ... Holder's 8th save

The attendance for the session. So you've got 4 teams fans counted there. Which is 3,500 a game. The point still stands that even LSU/MSU aren't raking in attendance numbers that the Bham stadium couldn't hold.

Except for the Championship or Alabama playing Auburn the Birmingham stadium would be plenty adequate. Never debated the point. Hell, you could have it in a high school stadium if you are going to move it to downtown Birmingham.

Actually, I think it is 2016 but the Baron's had no plans of moving when that contract was done. Hoover has an uphill battle of keeping the field in "SEC quality" condition without a minor league team playing there. I fear Hoover will have to back out without a minor league team being there any longer. I hope they can but it might prove to be too costly

Why would it be in memphis? Not happening.. Memphis is worst than Bham when it comes to crime, plus its not a central location.. And the stadium might hold more but it will not draw a large crowd..
