I'd also like to know the last time over 16k were in attendance for a single game in Hoover?

the op wanted to move the sec tourney to the new bham ball park. It is open for bids and I don't think it will ever go to bham since the seating is not enough. There are other facilities that will do the job but the sec fan base will want to attend. That is why I don't think a place like Memphis will ever host. it also needs to be centrally located.

Hoover has its own stadium but don't let the facts get in the way of your ignorant rant.
Enjoy the new park and packing heat.....

Just pointing out a fact that you want to ignore.
Since I have lived in the Bham area for over 57 years I may know a little more about it than you.

Regions Field is almost complete.. Hopefully, the SEC Tourney moves...
Terrible location as for you have nothing within walking distance nor any public transportation that goes near the park.
I know that I plan to ride a Birmingham city bus to my first Barons' game at the new ballpark.

But to people in LA, everything LA is the best.

quote:If Hoover wants to maintain the stadium and from what I heard at last year's tournament, they do, it can stay at Hoover. The new stadium for the Baron's plays no role in the SEC baseball tournament if the city of Hoover wants to maintain the stadium for this and a few other events. Geographically, this makes the most sense.

SEC will pull out of Hoover come the end of the contract..
Newer facilities are always a plus. If Hallman from the Alabama Sports Foundation says he wants it in Brmingham 9x's out of 10, it will be moved.. ASF would get the deal sealed with the SEC since they are practically neighbors downtown.

How does moving it from Hoover to Bham make it that much different?
It doesnt

quote:Didn't say it did. But, I would bet Hoover could outbid the new stadium on attendance alone. The Memphis and Gwinnett venues don't make sense geographically. It will stay at one of the Birmingham/Hoover sites though. Hoover has the attraction of the RV park which would make a difference in the bid from revenue from the RVs plus the attendance from the RVers. We attend almost every game. Impossible to do without the RVs being parked pretty close. That's a lot of tickets sold.
