It was noon on a work day, and NCAA tournament games count actual butts in the seats rather than tickets sold. The tickets sold figure inflates regular season numbers pretty bad.

The crowd looked good on television, and that stadium is unreal. Nothing can match it in college baseball.

It was the Friday noon game and people work. Out of town folks will be there in droves for the games today. Almost 9K isn’t bad considering. Starkville isn’t exactly the size of Fayetteville from a population perspective.

It was cold in Los Angeles last night. People in hoodies and blankets. A little warmer and they would have had 50 more in a metro of 15 million.

None of the attendance numbers will make sense because teams are purposely underreporting. The more they report, the bigger cut they pay to the NCAA. There was probably closer to 12k at the Ole Miss game last night but they reported just under 10k

You overreport during the regular season and underreport during the post season

Yeah they reported 9805 but it was standing room only. I’d guess around 12k in attendance. All about the money
