So I think history shows us if everything plays out as expected Bama is going to get the 4th spot. Only wrench I can see is if UGA beats LSU in which case those two teams would go along with Clemson and Ohio State (assuming they win out). Would LSU fans be ok, even happy almost, to lose to UGA to keep Bama out?

Nope. Will not happen with a 1 loss P5 available. I fully expect that the committee might put BAMA at #4 until the conference championships but someone will he jumped ahead if everything remains the same...

I hope we get them if they backdoor their way in again.

A1abama is basically a bye week to the team that wins that lottery.

LSU should have won by more. frick them we can beat them again.

I do think if they seed them over a 1L P5 Conference Champion it sends a horrible message given their schedule is weak. Why is everyone else even bothering playing their games?

Yup. In fact we should forfeit.

Kind of agree. Placing bama at 4 now until “things play out” is sort of a place holder. If “things” happen, they’re already there. If those things don’t happen, final committee will adjust and put the 1 loss P5 conf champ in at 4. Y’all are just keeping it warm.

You just ignoring Oklahoma or Oregon coming in as a 1 loss conference champ? Or Baylor as an undefeated champ?

Smartest play by the committee... you got the Big 12 and PAC 12 that will produce a one loss champ more than likely...

Right now: LSU, Clemson, and tOSU are locked if they win out... so putting OU or Oregon at #4 really doesn’t leave the committee a lot of room for movement if everyone wins out... how do you jump one over the other into the #4 spot?

Agree

Will have to be 2-loss conference champions from ACC, Pac-12, AND ACC for Bama to get in.

The new emphasis on conference champs will all but kill any shot Bama has, IMO.

BAMA isn't getting without some serious upsets occurring.

No, it doesn't. History shows is that if everything plays as expected they will be out of the playoffs. Considering, ya know..a non champion has never made the playoffs over a team with less than 2 losses.

Anybody else think if Minnesota wins out, they will be in?

If Minnesota wins out in the regular season and loses to an undefeated Ohio State in the CCG, A1abama should sit behind them as well. They won't, but they should.

Do you think Bama gets in the playoffs over a 12-1 conference champ Oregon who has a “quality” top 10 win against Utah? What about a 1 loss OU or undefeated Baylor conference champ? They’ll remain at 4 but eventually get leapfrogged.

Losing a game in November sucks. They should probably schedule some better OOC games to have a better resume.
