I mean, isn’t this what always happens though. Makes it to the top 4 or even two and gets physically dominated. (Hope this doesn’t age badly!)

All of those guys were from Louisiana and only one of them was a 5 star IIRC. Francis could be that guy but we need some of the older guys to step up and get separation like Hilton did on that last TD.

He chooses to run the ball all the time on the RPO when he hands off to the running back.

Not sure of the injury but he was a solid back this year. Should do well at Ole Miss.

Looks like 3rd round projections and they are actually #15 and #17 for DTs, unless I’m reading it wrong.

It’s scheme. DBs play 10 yards off, we rarely blitz. We at least crowded the line in the 4th. I think we sent 5 or more 6-7 times and it was successful all but once.
Toviano played well for his 2nd game. Speights played terrible. Maason played better. Shand played well! Guillory played the best game I’ve seen him play. We even had a few coverage sacks.
My guess would be House wants to play a bend not break defense but when you bend and then break, why not dial up the pressure? Sheesh

Focused on him in a rewatch and then rewatched some of his freshmen snaps.
He almost never makes a move. He just locks in with the OL and allows himself to get blocked. The other DTs are fighting like hell to get through.
Not sure if that’s what he’s being coached to do, but a swim move or any type of move seems rare.

Watching replay now. KJ did a great job of moving in the pocket and then keeping his eyes up and finding receivers in our ultra soft zone.
Feels like the RPO works on us every play. Burns never stepped up and made the play. He did tackle well on run plays though.
Zy has been behind the receiver on every play. Denver played well but needs to learn to look for the ball on deep throws.
Would love to see us mix it up and blitz more. If we do blitz, it’s an obvious Perkins blitz.
