Yes, I agree. Alabama vs Alabama in the annual A-Day Spring game is the only rivalry between legitimate bluebloods.

Nah, I respect the egg bowl as much as any rivalry but it aint the Iron Bowl.

Ask the Dallas PD how friendly it is. Granted the latest generation of students have become soft, but in past decades over 100 (sometimes many more) ending up in the city free hotel was usual

I know a ton of Auburn grads. I've never heard a single one think UGA is hated more than Alabama.
Not seeing it.
It's okay though. We're the #2 rival of a lot of teams.
Auburn
Florida
South Carolina.
Heck even a few Clemson fans might still have us at #2.

Ours is the only rivalry born of political hate rather than sports. That's why the SC/sheep humping sister banging taterheads rivalry is so wicked and dangerous that it's almost been canceled four or five times.

I love the Egg Bowl. It is what makes college football great. The fact that it rarely has any impact on anything of importance YET is soooooo important to the fans of each team is what, to me, makes CFB special.
The Iron Bowl, The Red River Shootout, The WLOCP, The Game...one or all of these are usually directly related to someone winning a national championship....the Egg Bowl is a lot like Army/Navy to me....two teams playing because the game means something in the moment and a crowd of passionate fans who understand that. The others are important to casual observers of the game...they are an event....games like the Egg Bowl are what makes CFB special to true fans...line up, knock the shite out of one another, and 60K people convinced it is the only thing that matters in the moment....it don't get no better.

I don't know that anything short of a shooting war means more to the people involved than the Iron Bowl does to Auburn and Alabama fans. From the outside looking in it is kind of demented....

I know several fans of both teams....none of them seem to hate the other like Auburn and Alabama. People from the area around Texas talk about hating everything about Texas (Oklahoma and New Mexico, not sure about Louisiana) but they aren't ate up with it. I have never been to a function of any sort with Sooner and Long Horn fans present outside the season when the game was much of a topic of conversation. That is 180 degrees from what I have experienced with Alabama and Auburn fans. If they get together the game is going to be part of the conversation. UGA and UF is more akin to OU/Ut than AU/UA....it is kind of good natured hate. The Iron Bowl is not....it borders on unhealthy in my opinion.

This is one that also borders on the intensity of AU/UA. It seems to be more on the side of the USC fans but to be honest I have intentionally avoided Clem's Son fans for the most part.

Yeah I don't know that I'd want to be in College Station this year when the game is renewed. I know fans of both schools and they are as bad about one another as AU/UA fans....add to the fact that they are mostly Texans, a notoriously thin skinned breed prone to violence at the slightest hint of disrespect (the defining characteristic of people with low self esteem) and their ain't no telling what sort of ill shite is liable to happen.
