Jimmy’s hand is so far up Neal’s arse. If he told Neal that Lane was quitting football and becoming a literal crab, Neal would report it.

The issue is Meyer only lasted 4 years at Florida from stress Spurrier stepped down then came back at South Carolina..other than those 2 coaches Florida is an average program.. they are not elite..if your going to leave.. take the LSU job if Orgeron and Miles can win National championships so can Kiffin plus Florida NIL sucks. Ole Miss and LSU tare giving him a blank check ( however with the shite show in Louisiana I don't know if I believe that) he will be handcuffed at Florida and if he doesn't turn it around he gets fired in 3-4 years just like his last job at USC.
He can go to Florida in 3-4 years more when his kids graduate that job will be open again and demand total control

Ole Miss can be as prestigious as anyone in the country. This is a new era of football. They’d be stupid not to retain him

It is nice to see you are taking a break from streaming on Twitch to bring some inside info

There are several things I am not sure on in life, but what I am sure on Neal, Chase, Chuck, etc. have no idea what is really going on.

I am a survivor going back to the mid-90s of various Rebel forums (Rebel Vent, OMSpirit, CNNSI, NAFOOM, 24/7, et al). The common theme through all was they had insider knowledge, that always ended up being wrong. It is a main reason I am here now, as those places are just a group think hive mind of retards. It never starts that way, but they all get there eventually. The SECRant is actually a living proof, diversity is our strength. Those other sites need the clicks, volume, to maintain relevancy in any means possible. Facts and truth do not matter, tell the masses what they want to hear or better yet fabricate something to keep them coming back.

Maybe Lane stays and proves finally Lane 2.0 is a real thing, or maybe he reverts back to Lane 1.0 and is a coach at a different school next year. Time will tell, but all we know as 100% fact - nobody knows anything right now.

You say LSU is the better job but is it? Not in football terms but from a coaches perspective.

Every coach in USA sees LSU trying to weasel out of paying Kelly. And that in turn created online gossip plus media rumors, to the effect of what can the “for cause” be? So then rumors fly and some are vicious and about cheating and other stuff. Nobody wants to be the target of that.

So let’s assume Lane is interested. He’s going to see all that crap and tell his agent a list of terms that are not negotiable. Like if fired for any reason he gets paid 100%. Eliminate the “for cause” disclaimer. He also might be asking for a huge sum of money.

So LSU might be trying to counter offer but due to how they handled Kelly they are in a bad negotiating spot. So this could all be going in behind closed doors. And Lane could be testing LSU for leakers of info to see what gets out and who/how.

I still think LSU messed up trying to peel back money from Kelly. And all agents of all prospective coaches will be wanting more assurances from LSU than other schools. This might give someone like Florida an avenue to beat LSU in that department.

Coaches always think they can win no matter where they go. Its all about contracts and guarantees and things of that nature.

All speculation on my part but its very possible things are going on heavy behind the scenes.

Also to keep in mind - 99% of leaked info or sources is by agents. Testing waters or pressuring a school via media pressure and other shenanigans.

None of us really know because none of us are coaches.

For instance, for everything you said about LSU looking bad in the BK situation, if it was common knowledge in coaching circles that BK was loafing and is a slimy character, suddenly coaches may not perceive LSU so badly.

Contrarily, if LSU handcuffed BK and he checked out because of that, LSU looks terrible.

That's the problem. No one really knows anything for sure. It's all wild speculation at this point.

Meyer was at UF for 6 years.
His reason for stepping down wasn't UF related.

Especially when we had a coach that matched Lane's most wins in a season (Muschamp), a coach that went to 2 more SEC championships than Ole Miss has ever been too (Mac), and Mullen, who accomplished more at UF than what Lane has done at Ole Miss. All in the 15 year period where we were "trash"/"awful"/"garbage"/etc.

We were never a shite program, we had a shite coach since 2020. And every SEC school has had a few of those in their histories.

There was not a single source, Neal. fricking idiot

I've heard $15 million a year, which is a little more than what I've heard LSU is prepared to offer. Don't hold me to that number. I'm not reporting it. I've just heard it enough to think there's something to it.
Literally everyone has been saying $13.5 to $15 million for a month.
