in no way is this a better rivalry than bama ut. i don't think georgia georgia tech is either, but its arguable. but in no way is ole miss miss st better than bama ut.

No one asked my opinion but I'm drunk so...

The iron bowl is obviously number one...some vicious shite happens in the student sections during said game but I almost think of it as just as courteous as us vs UGA

I know call me nuts but there is southern hospitality on both sides yet there are trashy redneck fricks on both sides...why can't we all just get along?

With that I'm going to sleep sleep cause I'm a bit shitfaced

I seriously yelled, "What the frick?!!!" and hauled arse back to the house. Watch the frick out for owls brah, night.

Everyone's got their opinion. I didn't grow up involved in the Ut-Bama rivalry although I know it has a ton of history.

I am not trying to be biased with putting the Egg Bowl at #3 but if you only knew what it was like growing up eating Thanksgiving at a family member's house (who was a State fan) a lil before noon, loading up in the car and hauling arse to Oxford (never, ever went inside of the city limits of Starkville in my existence until this past year's EB) to catch the game that night...gives me goosebumps.

People would have full-scale Thanksgiving spreads in their grove tents and the whole 9. An Egg Bowl in Oxford is something every SEC fan should experience. In Starkville? ehhhh

Quick question for UF fans, who do you think FSU hates more, UF or Miami?

I would say Florida, mostly because we are by far the biggest fan base in the state and you rarely run into Miami fans. Winning the Florida/FSU game carries far more bragging rights than FSU/Miami.

I would bet one million dollars that you've never been to the game. What you say makes perfect sense, but if you've ever been in Jacksonville on gameday it'd be perfectly clear.

+1000, this game is on a different scale and tough to weigh against other rivalries. It is very unique, and something I never appreciated until I was a student at UF and went to the games. And honestly, it doesn't matter if one team has a big streak over the other, because no matter what there are going to be 10's of thousands of opponent fans there and the only game that matters is the one played on that day. Nobody wants to have to walk the streets of Jacksonville as a loser.

If your talking about last 10 years or so you could make an argument for AU LSU over AU UGA but historically it's not even close.

Amen to that. There is no worse feeling in the world than walking out of that stadium a loser. The night Terrance dropped the bomb that could have snatched victory from defeat ranks up there as one of the worst of my life. This game is cyclical, right now we are in the turd eating phase of it, but in the 70s and 80s, it was UGA that was dominant. Plenty of dislike to be found in Jacksonville each year.

It is far greater than the Auburn game in terms of hatred.

Arkansas-LSU gets better every year.

The baseball angle (you owning us) makes it better.

My mom's family are all big FSU fans (grandparents were season ticket holders since like 1985) and in the late 80's early 90's it was without a doubt Miami becuase not only did FSU's loss to Miami cost them a couple shots at the national title, but from 1985-1995, Florida State was 2-8 against Miami. In the same time period, FSU was 7-3-1 (they rematched in 94)against Florida (including the choke at Doak, where Spurrier blew a 28 point 4th quarter lead in his best chance to win a t Doak Campbell- which he never did). From the mid nineties onward, Florida was FSU's biggest rival.

And btw, I've been to 2 iron bowls, and was extremely underwhelmed by both. I expected fights, brawls, spitting, cussing, etc. I didn't see any of it. All I saw was a normal SEC game, no different than a UGA/LSU game for example.

Try an Egg Bowl if that's what you're looking for in a rivalry. This would be considered the greatest rivalry in all of sports if it ever meant anything nationally. No two teams hate each other more than Ole Miss and Miss St. It is entertaining as hell to go to. Unfortunately, since there's not much at stake, it's kind of like watching two midgets fight.

My dad's family is roughly 75% Ole Miss fans/grads but we got along suprisingly well during the Egg Bowl. However, I have two first cousins, one was a Bama fan and one was an Auburn fan and they had to be separated at times while the Iron Bowl was on.

good list la kid, though i would probably replace fsu miami with fsu florida state. in the late 80's early 90's, miami fsu was THE rivalry on a national scale because of the success of the two teams, but when Miami went on probation, I think Florida replaced them becuase of their success under spurrier and FSU's continued success. Of course, if FSU don't get any better under Jimbo, nobody on the national scale is gonna care who their rivals are (since 2002, they're 5-12 against their 2 biggest rivals, and have not beaten them both in the same year since 1990).

There is too much of a connection between UGA and AU to have a lot of hatred there. Vince Dooley grew up in Mobile, went to Auburn, was an assistant at AU and became a legend in Athens. Pat Dye grew up in Georgia, played in Athens, became a legend on the plains. Erk Russell played at AU, was an assistant at UGA before becoming a legend at Georgia Southern.

A lot of kids who play for Auburn are Georgia boys who grew up as friends with, and playing with/against, guys who play for UGA.

Yes, Auburn and Bama players grew up playing with/against guys who play for Bama, but in those cases from day 1 you know you were either Auburn or Bama, so that rivalry has always been there.

That was awesome, but not as good as the Clemson/USC fight. Didn't a State recruit get hit in the brawl? It was actually kind of embarrassing for both teams

(1) Iron Bowl/ Bama vs Barn

(2) LSU/ Bama

(3) Rocky Flop/ Bama

After That; Arky, Ole Miss, Ms State.

#1 Iron Bowl Because we literally Hate each other/ bragging Rights/Recruiting at stake

#2 Has Become more of a Factor since Saban Took over

#3 Vols are down at the moment but I feel like LSU is more of a threat then The Vols are anyway.
