1. Iron Bowl - nuff said

2. UF-FSU- Has lost some luster but I think Jimbo brings it back.

3. OM-MSU - Intensity definitely returning to 90s form.

4. Aub-UGA - How could this be left off the OP?

5. UGA-GT - Classic. Should have some good ones in the future with what PJ is building in ATL.

6. Ala- Tenn - Fulmer helped fuel an already intense rivalry

7. Ark-LSU - Not as much history as others but still a good one.

8. S Car - Clem

9. UT-UF - def not what it was when the big orange and darth visor were roaming the sidelines and now with kiffin gone but still noteworthy.

10. Aub-LSU - Some viscous games in the past 10 yrs.

SC-CU is underrated simply due to 2 schools combining for 1 national title and 1 Heisman, but theyve brawled more than once, fans have shot each other, animals have died, and a skrimish that almost broke out between CU cadets and SC students suspended the game for years.

SC-CU should be higher up on that list (he said with bias)

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I know every innate detail about all the rivalries because, quite simply, I haven't been a part of all of them. But what I can tell you is that there is a lot of fail on the part of the UGA rivalries. The Auburn rivalry is the oldest in the south, but it's more of a brotherly thing. There's not the venom in this one that you see in others. The Tech rivalry is EXTREMELY underrated on a national scale. All I can say is go to one in Atlanta and you'll understand. It's hard to put into words. There is some damn HATE in this one. It is very appropriately named. Also the UGA/UF rivalry is obviously popular but seems to be a little underrated in this thread. Just my overall opinion.

And btw, I've been to 2 iron bowls, and was extremely underwhelmed by both. I expected fights, brawls, spitting, cussing, etc. I didn't see any of it. All I saw was a normal SEC game, no different than a UGA/LSU game for example.

Btw, speaking of brawls, it's not on youtube so the only way you can see it is to somehow find a video of it....but the '93 UGA/GT game had a fraking BRAWL. And this was 1993. This was before Miami and Clemson were brawling. This was an old school, knock down, drag out, brew haha. Haymakers thrown left and right. Helmets off. Fists flying. A little background: thanksgiving day in Atlanta, we were up by like 30 with under 5:00 in the game. We score another TD, Ray Goff decides to go for the 2 pointer. We convert, and INSTANTLY tech starts throwing hands. It was awesome. People around the country really have no idea how much literal HATE is in this rivalry.

Iron Bowl lost some luster after it moved from Bhamm, but growing up in elementary school we had to wear Bama or Auburn leading up to the game. We would have massive royal rumbles at recess.

That's why FSU v UF is such a big deal. Most of those guys played against each other or even WITH each other in HS. Back in the 90s when the best players in Florida either went to FSU or UF, that rivalry was HUGE.

It's still a big game, FSU just can't touch Florida right now, so it's lost some luster as UF fans laugh FSU fans out of the stadium.

Same thing with the UGA series. Must UF fans between 20-30 just think of UGA as a minor annoyance because they barely ever win.

Fwiw, LSU vs. Arkansas should never be in any of yall's lists. We hate Auburn, Ole Miss, and Alabama a WHOLE LOT MORE. LSU-Arkansas was more of a "forced rivalry" with that stupid trophy. Hell, even the Arkansas fans feel the same way. They hate Texas and now Ole Miss more than LSU.

Quick question for UF fans, who do you think FSU hates more, UF or Miami?

Iron bowl is ridiculuos in Bham. They pretty much force you to choose sides and don't understand how someone could not be a fan of either. It's like they are the only schools that exist.

1983 fight (not as bad as the '04 one, seemed to get under control before it blew up too much)

SC fan shoots CU fan after '06 game over $20 bet
-yeah they were both drunk but there are a lot of people drunk at all rivalry games and for it to come to that -

This will tell you about the damn near battle in 1902

The picture in question that enraged so many CU fans is of course still many avatars and sigs on some SC boards.

There are others but you get my point.

This.
From the time you are in kindergarten you are forced to choose sides. Every year in elementary school in the week leading up to the Iron Bowl they would take polls from every single class to see if there was more Auburn or Alabama fans and you would wear your team gear the whole week.

I would think FSU hates Miami more. Hard to know really.

I think the three schools really hate each other equally.

Everyone's been talking so much shite all year, they don't want to get thrown out of the game.

Now after the game...well, that's an entirely different story. Some bammer stabbed like 5 Auburn students outside a frat house a few years back, sending one to the hospital w/ a collapsed lung. After he was caught, he told a kid who had been declared mentally retarded that he'd get him a new car if he would claim that he was the person that actually stabbed the frat guys. So......

In 1916, after a Tech game in athens, Georgia fans derailed Tech's train back to Atlanta causing a major accident. It caused the series to be put on hold for a decade. Now THAT is a rivalry.
