Them's the breaks. Can't fault Bama for scheduling cupcakes, we wanted a good team.
Bama consistently proves themselves every year by beating some of the best teams in the country.

LSU? Then how do you put LSU ahead of Mississippi State who manhandled them?
# of SEC losses?
Damn, that was SOOO difficult. I didn't even need to use "Logic," just common sense.

The LSU team right now is completely different team from the team that lost to MSU and Troy
So which is it?
We were told after Week 2 that Danny Ettling was a difference maker and that LSU and Coach O would challenge Bama for the league.
Then LSU was blown out in Starkville and lost to Troy at home.
Then after beating Auburn, we're now supposed to believe this team is back to being world beaters?
Sorry the only game we have to go off as evidence since Auburn was a game in which LSU played the undisputed worst team in the West and struggled with them far more than most other SEC West teams have so far:
Bama beat Ole Miss 66-3
Auburn beat Ole Miss 44-23 (after leading 35-3 at the half)
With 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter, LSU was only beating Ole Miss by 7 points, 23-16.
An Auburn 2nd half implosion and a 3-quarter struggle with Ole Miss are not enough evidence to claim, "The LSU team right now is a completely different team..."
Nope. Sorry.

I also would pissed if UGA got jumped but ND even with a loss due to head to head and ND not playing in a CCG. They will finish the season 11-1 at best where UGA right now at worst(assuming) finishes 12-1. That extra data point should go in UGA's favor.
Good points, actually. If you are not going to penalize ND for not playing a conference championship game, then don't penalize Georgia for playing one.

Clearly a road win over them is and should be resume booster at this point.
Yes it does booster but some seem to think on here that is was like beating the best team of all time. If was good win at that moment especially with a freshman QB in that environment which looks even better now. And yes I think the win over ND is a lot better then any win UA has currently but I do not think ND should be ranked in the top 10 and that win can not be used to measure the outcome in Atlanta if we both meet undefeated.
quote:
Yes. And who do you think the CFBP committee will decide has played the tougher schedule at this point? And which of Bama's opponents will come in ranked ahead of Notre Dame?
My guess will be UA stays at the top come tomorrow night even if the argument can be made other wise

In deciding the pecking order of Auburn-State-LSU, there are plenty of reasons why Auburn should get the nod at first in the group:
The real reason is that most sensible people think Auburn is better than LSU and considerably better than Miss State.
Auburn people can't really argue that they "deserve" to be considered better than LSU, of course. But most people think they are, and those people are very likely correct.

No one has said this. The only thing that has been said is that it is by far the SEC's most impressive OOC win. And it is. And there's nothing else even close.

To bolster that point, that was such a quality game that the loss is actually helping ND push toward a playoff spot

1a/1b- Georgia/Alabama
Georgia has the resume, but Alabama is king until the revolution comes.
You can make an argument for either team. I would personally put Georgia in the number 1 spot bc the notre dame win looks impressive.

Considering this is SEC rankings you have to take the team that has 2 SEC losses below the team that has 1 SEC loss.
Not really. You are ranking SEC teams, but you still consider games against non SEC teams. You don't just forget about those.

Beating a team by 1 point is not a huge win either by definition.
Depends on who it is against, don't you think? A one point win against Missouri is not a big win. If UGA is lucky enough to beat Alabama in the SECCG, it would be an absolutely HUGE win.
Do you think a 5 point win in the 2012 SECCG was big? it allowed Alabama to curb stomp ND in the National Championship game.

This^^ ND is ranked high because of their loss to UGA and it was close. Not because of their other wins. If UGA was a 2 loss team I doubt ND would be top 10 or even top 15.

yes they would because
1. They're Notre Dame and only have 1 loss
2. They beat the crap out of USC who, at the time, was ranked 11
3. They beat the crap out of NC State last week who, at the time, was ranked 14.
They've blown out every team on their schedule not named UGA. They would have been squarely in the top 10 with or without UGA on their schedule

ND was ranked 24th(AP) coming into that game.
But since they have proven to be a top 10 team.

Next they beat a horrible UNC team and jump up to 16.
You do know NC State is ranked #20, right? I wouldn't call that great, but hardly horrible.
It's obvious you being a homer.
Hey, I think Alabama gets the #1 spot based on history, but really....make your case based on schedule for Alabama. Right now you are belittling our victory over a team currently ranked #5 in the AP poll, and #8 in the coaches. If you can find a better win for Alabama trot it out there, and we will examine it.
Like i said...I would put Alabama #1 right now, but if you are arguing schedule, then you are going to lose.

So, you think rankings should be based upon who you think another team will lose to?

Since it is subjective I will throw out 10
UA, UGA, Wisc, and Miami all of whom are undefeated since so many seem to think it is important and from power 5 conferences.
Clemson a better record IMO
OSU they actually beat a top 5 team
OU they actually beat a to 5 team
PSU their 1 point loss looked a lot better then ND again IMO
ISU 2 losses but have beaten 2 top 5 teams.
