This isn't a troll, but there has to be a boat load of talent in the St. Louis area. Do they just go elsewhere more often than not?
They go elsewhere. Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame basically have home addresses there.
former Bama WR Jameson Williams went to Cardinal Ritter and former walk on Gussie Busch is the great grandson of August Busch, Jr.

Allegedly South Carolina alum and then NC State head coach Dick Sheridan was the one to turn ol’ Danny in

Hatfield would have stayed and Arkansas would have been better off but was under immense pressure to change his offensive staff but he refused. In his own words he left Arkansas because of Frank Broyles.
This happened during the signing period and Frank panicked. So he hired his OC Jack Crowe who didn't have any head coaching experience. He gave Arkansas it's first losing season in over 20 years. Now with the cherry on top he lost to the Citadel in the first year in the SEC. Frank fires him and the interim was Joe Kines. Then scientific rocket Ford was hired and he lost to SMU and Memphis State regularly. Even in 1995 when they won the west, Ford still found a way to lose to SMU.

The problem here is that you're using a metric that puts Ole Miss and Vandy on the same level, and historically they are not.

We actually technically did win the conference in the 80’s, probably would have won a nattie too. We’re just not a bunch of insecure frickwads that claim fake national titles like some schools in the conference.

This post should be the measuring stick based on the original post. Period
Depends how old you are.
Private schools rocked the early part of CFB but WWI and WWI were wars where the best and brightest fought and died. After WW II the GI Bill allowed the State schools tp pass the Privates and never went back. Again, history is determined by time and place. After WWII lots of rich kids opted out or got daddy to get them a job in the rear with the gear.
Just something to think about.

Mizzou is over 100 games above .500 all time, y'all still have a losing record.

Imagine what MSU's record would be where you used to be. We've played Bama more than any team in college football.

That's nice. Still below .500 historically. Mizzou had to play Nebraska and OU annually for decades in the Big 8.

12 years isn't considered historic would it?

Meh we are over .500 on the field and by today's standards that's what matters. Okie was tough for a good while, but imagine having to play Bama, LSU, Auburn every year for over a century and Florida and Tennessee a hundred times combined.

He’s talking about historically, not recently as the title states. Historically UT is
#2 in all time wins
#2 in conference wins
#2 in national title
#2 in conference titles.
I would say historically they are Teri 1.

With all the conference combining it should go by conferences now.

Should the list start with 1980, after all of college football was fully integrated? This really happened prior to 1980, but 1980 is a good starting point.
