Seriously, I could see Harsin making some serious progress at A@M. If ANYBODY could breathe life back into a program that died in 1939, he just might be the guy.

Harsin is a good coach and a program builder, he just has to combat everything working against him at Auburn. I think if he wins this weekend against a ranked Penn State, it'll go a LONG way towards winning back most Auburn fans.

He can be successful there, he just needs the time and patience to do it the right way

With the other two you quickly wouldn't have lesser talent.

I do agree though Pittman is an absolutely perfect fit at Arkansas. Really pulling for him to excel there for a long time.

You mean they would move our school to Georgia or Alabama?

We had Danny ford who won a natty and Lou holtz 8who won a natty after we fired him and other decent coaches but the recruiting ground was always the same.

Sam has a chance with the portal and improved recruiting to make us competitive which we haven’t been in a while.

Look at what Saban did before he went to lsu and look where smart landed. Neither would set the world on fire here. Give Sam that type of talent with our coordinators and then we can discuss who’s who………

FYI Kirby did not have to go into a bad situation or change a culture. Georgia had been a top team for years. He took a very good team and made it great.
LSU is notorious for hiring bad coaches and Grinding Brian is the next one in their long line of really strange guys

So you wouldn't trade Pittman for smart or saban?
Definitely not Saban, he's almost as old as Trump.
Kirby I'd have to think long and hard about. I bet Sam Pittman himself would say to take Kirby, but, perhaps for that very reason I'd stick with Sam.

Arkansas is a hard-arse job and it's not for everybody. ALL of the big ego coaches we've had tasted some success and then crashed HARD- because of their egos likely. Petrino, Bert, Nutt...

Sam is perfect for Arkansas. He's almost ego-less.

If it's just this year, Jimbo should be last, behind Drinkwitz.

Not anytime in the next decade or so. Y’all are pitiful. It’s sad to see how the “mighty” have fallen.

Before I opened this thread I would have bet everything I have in retirement that Harsin wouldn’t have been in the top 13.

When you hire coaches like Bert and Chad Morris, it makes it a hard-arse job.

I will say that in LSU's specific situation, I'd take Saban, Kelly, then Pittman over Kirby and the rest.

Sorry but if you’d take Brian Kelly over Kirby, you’re an idiot lol

Until Pittman has success here without Briles and Odom on staff, I’m taking Saban and Kirby first over him. I love what he’s doing but I need to see his second round of hires before I feel 100% comfortable.

Also, recruits are going to flock to current day Saban and Smart no matter where they are. Current day Saban would be significantly better here than Michigan State Saban.

Kirby took over a team that went into overtime against Georgia Southern in their last home game under the previous coach. Kirby took over a team with a 7 point win over 3-9 Georgia tech team. Kirby took over a team that started faton bauta at QB against the Florida gators.

Kirby took over a team that went 10-3, 10-3 the two seasons before he took over. What massive rebuild

Danny Ford cheated and left Clemson before the NCAA started an investigation. He wasn't allowed to do the same at Arkansas. Bad hire by Broyles.

While I do believe Holtz is a better coach than Broyles, he didn't have the same passion and care for Arkansas as Broyles did. This was a key factor as why he didn't have the same level of success. His dream job was Notre Dame.

Arkansas currently has 11 players from Georgia on the roster. Four more have committed as of now. He has three committed from Alabama as well.

Saban and Smart wouldn't set the world on fire at first at Arkansas because it would be a massive rebuild. But if an offensive line coach with zero head coaching experience win nine games in his second year with only three players drafted then the other two could do the same and continue to elevate the program if given enough patience and time.
