Questions for OU Fans About BV and Nagy

If, for some reason, OU fails to live up to expectations over the next few years, who gets fired? Venables or Nagy?
If Nagy wins the power struggle is he the one who hires the replacement?
If OU still sucks will Nagy get the next coach fired too, or will the AD step in and fire Nagy?

Power struggle?
Is this the latest thing you turds invented in your own minds over on IT and declared it to be true again?

Just asking legitimate questions, that apparently you don't have an answer to.

They’re still melting over BV getting an extension. In a month or so their focus will be discussing who should replace Sark which will be fun.

Texas needs to worry about Sark winning before it expends energy on other teams.

In spite of your fantasies of our demise, Oklahoma isn't going to fail at all.
There is no power struggle between Venables and Nagy, and there never has been.
I know you're concerned about Oklahoma having built the model everyone will copy moving forward, but it's not our fault you losers can't think beyond simply throwing money at a problem.

The "AD" doesn't really have a role in the football program anymore other than staff hiring and salary/contract negotiations that go with it.
See? You're stuck in the old world model.

From June: The OU Board of Regents has approved a new four-year, $4.6 million contract for Oklahoma football GM Jim Nagy.
Thats a great deal because he has lots of connections.
If you had a brain you can compare the recent BV annual contract value vs this value and get your answer.

From an outsider who understands pro football models:

A great look at what a modern and well run college football front office looks like.
Teams need to operate like the pro teams they are.

1. Because you know that's not going to last.
2. Because people nationally are beginning to see what he has truly built as the model people will copy, and it will replace your model, which is just "let's rev Lambo engines at recruits like cheesedicks and outspend everybody into oblivion!".
PS: There was more media coverage of our coach's extension coming out of Austin than there was out of Norman, and that's hilarious.

That article talks about how much agents love negotiating with OU. I'm not so sure that's a good thing for your program.
Also, all of the Sooners in here bragging about how awesome your new system is and how Texas' is old and we'll soon be copying you are forgetting that your recent portal class ranked 17 and ours 3.

If you don't make the playoffs again with this top transfer class and top recruiting class, what will UTerus do?

Nagy isn't going to be fired. He's a beast, and so is his team.
And no, Nagy and his staff have no hiring/firing powers over the coaching staff. The coaching staff answers to the AD, the President, and the Board of Regents, like they always have.
You're so far behind.

Class rankings don't matter anymore.
Talent evaluation and team/roster building does. See also, Indiana, who did what you can't do with your bajillions and Lambos.
What a dinosaur.

OU has this weird set up. There is this mysterious guy named Randall Stephenson who is "Chair of Football"... He is essentially an advisor to the University President regarding all matters pertaining to football.
I think he would make the recommendation to the President and to the Board of Regents regarding firing Venables, Nagy or both.
Stephenson is unpaid in this position. Just a rich retired former corporate CEO who was looking for something to do I guess.
What is unusual about Nagy's and his position is that he has a rather large staff that would probably fired with him I assume. Almost like firing an entire coaching staff.
It is an interesting question though...Is there a scenario where you would fire Nagy and not fire Venables or vice versa.
