Question regarding the SEC's new pro rule

Sankey doesn't seem to know the rule, but here it is.
Why does it not mention MLB?

Since Hutson was a senior, he didn't have to declare for the NFL Draft, meaning he never had to withdraw. This clears him for Rule No. 1.
So the rules are still full of Grey areas.

doesn’t mention a lot more sports also ….. it does mention football which clearly means LSU intentionally is trying to break league rules . It’s pretty clear what the rules are again …. LSU fans trying to justify it with excuse after excuse …. meanwhile LSU is the only school trying to break the rules … we can’t break it down for you any clearer than that .

Because the MLB has always had a carve out because as far as I know the league does not prohibit the drafting of highschool prospects. It also has a legitimate minor league farm system in place for those draftees. Neither of those things exist with the NFL. You can’t get into the NFL by bypassing college. Once you enroll in college to play football, the clock starts ticking. Baseball prospects are able to enroll in college to play football because the clock never started ticking.

The NCAA already has rulings for MLB.

A lot of former minor league players came back to play college football. Chris Weinke is one example after 6 years. Heck.Ricky Williams played minor league ball while he was at Texas.
