I’ll take NCAA tournament success over any other.
Bama would take the NC this year in football over SECC
I’d take a baseball NC over winning the SEC in regular season and tournament like we did last year.

A good showing in the dance gets the attention of recruits. Our elite 8 helped get the #2 recruiting class coming in next year.
Though it’s cool to win the regular season championship and tourney it’s usually forgotten except by those that won it.
Dance wins, regular season, tourney in that order for me.

Regular season and conference tourney stuff are nice but NCAA tourney results are how seasons are measured in both basketball and baseball.

Final Fours are the measuring stick of success at Kentucky.
Elite 8s are considered coming up short. Exactly why Tubby got run out of here in fact.
SEC reg and tourney titles are great but we honestly just expect that they are ours every year and are right more often than not.

How much longer are you going to except Cal’s performance?

So does Coach Cal get fired this year if he doesn’t make a final 4? Hasn’t made one since 14-15 year and went 9-16 last year

The fan base has been up in arms and been split about this. I don't think our AD would move unless we saw seat boycotts on the levels of what we did for Joker.
Cal has us at #5 right now and Auburn and Purdue just lost....we're probably #3 next week.
I think the fan base expects at the very least Elite 8 this year. Sweet 16 is not acceptable at all.
Things are going well here though. Don't read this as doom and gloom. UK fans are enamored with this team. Such a fun bunch.
So the answer is he's not getting fired.

Well no shite. But getting to the elite 8 doesn’t really compare. I’d take an SEC championship. Final four is probably where I would draw the line as being more successful than a conference title.
Conference tourney championship… meh. I would take a sweet 16 over that.

As someone who has lived around basketball country for the majority of his adult life.
National Titles are 1st and Final Fours are a close 2nd
Elite 8's are equal to Regular Season Titles and rank 3rd
Conference Tourney Titles are equal to a Sweet 16 Run and rank 4th
