I've learned:
1. UGA fans are a little insecure when one mentions Alabama.
2. Mizzou fans act like they have won something
3. Alabama fans are respectful
4. A&M not sure they have any fans on here

I enjoy the actual sports talk, which is becoming more rare

They both suck and will bow down to State.

It's the same ol same ol I've heard for 14 years now. We can't compete in the sec.

Alabama: pretty secure in their status in this conference and CFB as a whole. Some very knowledgeable folks, I haven't seen too many Bama fans who are annoying save for a couple
Arkansas: you think you want some, but trust me - you don't
Auburn: Seem pretty cool to me
Florida: Same as Auburn, they seem cool
Georgia: Like Alabama, winning multiple NC's makes for content fans. Some very knowledgeable folks; could be more arrogant but they're really not
Kentucky: No real opinion, need more exposure
LSU: I have a soft spot for LSU and BR having attended school there for 3 semesters. I fell in love with the people down there. And I am sorry, but WilliamTaylor21 is fricking hilarious
Mississippi State: Good folks; knowledgeable of the game. Seem really down to earth, which I like
Missouri: Can't tell if they are truly this arrogant, or just sarcastically mocking themselves
Ole Miss: Basically a lot like State. Good folks; down to earth for the most part
South Carolina: Cool people, laid back, seem fun as hell to hang around with. I'm a tiny bit jealous because Columbia is awesome and all the sweet golf courses around that state, my sister lives outside of Charleston and I love it there too
Tennessee: Football fans are a lot like Texas fans but more friendly; baseball fans are a complete wreck. The way they react to winning a championship says a lot
A&M: Their fans are okay in person; their online presence is Clown World
Texas: My mom and stepmom were both Texas alums so I can't talk too much smack. Texas alum are generally cool from my experience; t-shirt fans are generally dipshits & losers
Vandy: No real opinion, need more exposure

The SEC is like Nam. Everyone thinks there the big bad American war machine with bright red 14 inch peckers but really your little screeching chinamen shooting with peace shooters from little grass huts. You shoot words with wonton abandon but flea like cockroaches at the first sign of real danger
Anyway there sure are a lot of ****s here.

1. SEC fan bases, at least on tRant? Probably Tennessee. Didn’t realize they had as many posters as Bama, LSU, etc. Or that’s what it seems like.
2. Who has surprised you? Kind of surprised Florida fans seem a bit quiet. I always perceived them as one of the bigger fan bases in SEC. Starting to wonder.
3. Who is the most arrogant? Tennessee. I went to LSU vs Tennessee game a few years ago in Baton Rouge and they were really a talkative fanbase. I didn’t realize that. Starting to question if they’re insecure about Texas because they start so many threads about.
4. Which fanbase shows class? A&M fans. Went to the A&M vs Bama game in College Station and they were really classy. I know as a Texas fan I’m not supposed to admit. I think they get unfair rap sometimes.

I see more conference fans than school fans.
I see fans who cannot appreciate football from other conferences
I see inferiority complex from the old beaten South, hence college football is their only way of feeling superior to the rest of the country

1. I am truly surprised how many fanbases have taken aggy revisionist history and fairytales as gospel, but I guess I shouldn't be.
2. I had forgotten how miserable Mizzery fans can be, but I don't remember them being quite like this in the Big12.
3. Tennessee seems to have this strange need to assert their dominance over us in spite of little history on the football field.
4. I don't know why but I thought all the OU gooners coming here would be the biggest sparring partners with Texas people, but the reality is we're both under constant constant attack from everyone else so often we forget who our real enemies are.

Not really being a card-carrying member of the Texas bashing club, I had no idea how much our fanbase was in the heads of Texas fans. Quite pleased to hear it though! Keep up the good work baws!

Alright Tigerboard, enough with your TEX alters obsessed with talking about Mizzou.

Inferiority complex towards you two bums?
Talking civil war, we could take the states of tx and ok in less than 24hrs if we wanted to.

Hilarious, considering you bums had to join us to keep up with the times? GTFO

All this proves is what we’ve already known: Oklahoma is in no way, shape, size, form or fashion, southern. I doubt you fit in any better than Missouri.

I haven't learned anything new because I grew up in Tennessee.

Culturally, this isn't correct. Southeastern Oklahoma is quite Southern because it's a cotton producing area that was settled by a significant number of migrants from Southern states after the Civil War. Western Oklahoma is more culturally Western, as you might expect.
The the poster you responded to is not totally incorrect, either. Shelby Foote talked about that in the Ken Burns series The Civil War . He said the South is unique in that since it lost that war, it's psychologically carried that burden ever since. You can't get more Southern than Shelby Foote.

Well, all due respect to Shelby, I just don’t feel any pressure at all from a war that happened over 100 years before I was born. I just don’t.
