Texas A&M posters are terrible and have no fricking idea what they're posting about... They obviously know very little about the game of football or the state of the NFL in the 1970s so please kindly shut the frick up.

A&M fans watched a real pro team in the 1970s. The by-God Dallas Cowboys and Coach Tom Landry. I can smell your jealousy from over here.

Lol @ all you non OM and Tennessee fans sucking off the entire Manning family. If you were as intense of fans as you think you are you would hate them
There is this thing called respect I wouldn't expect you to understand, because it seems as if your entire fanbase has taken on the mentality of your douchebag quarterback.

Especially the LSU fans who had two of his instate sons not give you the time of day as recruits.
Man, this I actually cannot believe. Who would have thought that someone that was an outstanding player at their Alma Mater, would raise their sons to be fans of the same school.*********

Honest question, what is the reason for the 100 on the helmets? Looks , I'd just like to know the story. I love the old school uni's.

1969 was the 100th anniversary of college football. Many teams that year wore helmets commemorating the annivery. Below is a replica of Alabama's.

I find it more shaming that A&M has a QB that routinely puts out half a thousand yards every game regardless of competition and A&M still can't go anywhere because their football program is still and always will be 2nd tier. Manning and his boys have done a ton for football in general.
In college? 'Cause I thought all three of them had pretty pedestrian college careers -- at least using the Alabama/LSU metric of SEC titles and MNCs...
College-wise:
Mannings
1 SEC title (1997)
0 MNC
0 Heismans
1 SEC rushing TD record (1969) (*14)
2 SEC total yardage record (1997, 2003) (*3789, 3582)
1 SEC total TD record (2003) (*32)
Manziel
0 SEC title
0 MNC
1 Heisman
1 SEC rushing TD record (2012) (*21)
1 NCAA/SEC total yardage record (2012) (*5116)
1 NCAA/SEC total TD record (2012) (*47)
Not to mention that you're comparing a 1968-70 Archie Manning with a 2012- Manziel. Granted they are both standouts in their respective eras -- but so were Lebron James and Bob Pettit.
Bob Pettit
Lebron James
Manziel is sitting on more total yards, TDs, and hardware in a season and 1/3 than Archie had in his entire career -- as well as a rushing average that is nearly 3X more. Wouldn't Manziel at least get the nod based on the level of competition? I mean, the 2013 installment of Sam Houston State would have beaten 1969 Alabama 140-0. It's the evolution of the game...

Archie was the first duel threat QB.
He may have been the best the SEC had ever seen at that point (he arguably still is), but he was hardly the first.
Hell, most QBs of the era of the 40s, 50s and 60s were dual threats. My namesake, being just one of them.

Stopped reading here. Peyton Manning finished his college career after the 1997 season. Eli was still in high school.

My apologies for being off one year -- maybe I was distracted by the Vols ultimate achievement the following year with Manning's understudy...
