Been to all SEC stadiums but two and have never had anything offered to me. Its either a-holes talking shite as you walk by or they just completely ignore you.
Most folks tailgating have their tailgate group and that's as far as it extends. We are the same. I don't tailgate anymore but when we did we had about 15 of us that hung out and pretty much didn't even notice people walking by.

When I was in the Grove ever week 08-15, I saw it constantly. I think it was an A&M game and it rained in the Grove. Literally every tent has aggies they’re just having casual conversation waiting on the rain to stop.
People stopping to watch other games on people’s tvs until commercial then everyone keeps moving. That usually strikes up a bunch of conversations.

I've never been offered out of the blue just walking through the Grove.
But countless times I've stopped by tailgates to chat briefly with the one person there that I knew. More times than not, the host or group of strangers organizing the tailgait will offer at least a drink.

Games I went to where I was invited to a tailgate
Ole Miss- no x3 (not surprised)
LSU- yes, of course
Georgia- yes
Kentucky- no, felt like a B1G school
Auburn- no, but it was an 11am kick and I didn’t get there until late
Tenn- same, 11am kick didn’t get there until late
Alabama- yes
Vandy- [404 not found]
Arky- went to the bars before

Haven't been able to tailgate much in College Station since 2012 but we invited Florida and LSU fans to enjoy our tailgate and visit prior to the games. Obviously not SEC, but Ok St. fans were very gracious back in the day. No conversation or offers in general from Arkansas fans in 2013 but can give them a pass since it was a wet day. Haven't been to a SEC road game since then but am heading to Oxford next month.
Pretty standard in life that you will get along with folks if you are easy going and friendly. No reason to go viral acting like a dick.

The one big surprise in the Grove? It’s the men that offer you blowjobs, not the women.
I don’t swing that way, so I didn’t enjoy the atmosphere vey much.

This. I have also been to Big 12, Big 10, and SEC games. Most people are happy to talk about your team and where you are from, and especially what you think of them. kansass is the one exception.
All of the SEC people have been polite and treated us well, but LSU was the only place we were eagerly invited into a tailgate. The others took a little work but it was worth it.
LSU-the best people and it's not even close. Great tailgate scene.
Ole Miss-unique atmosphere, a little full of themselves but nice setting and good people.
A&M-real Texas hospitality.
Georgia-didn't have a lot of time to spend here but had a good time.
Tennessee-just okay. People were good to us but not much of a tailgate scene-the river area was pretty cool.
Arkansas-beautiful setting, good people.
Vandy-Nashville is nice.
Alabama-nice campus, quaint town, good people. Understandably arrogant about their team.
Florida-probably the least welcoming fan base I have encountered. No problems, just didn't have a great experience.
Need to get to Miss St., S. Carolina, Kentucky, and Auburn.
Future members Oklahoma (good tailgate scene in a crummy town) and Texas (you should make it a point to go to Austin-great city, nice campus, good people).

Totally disagree. I am a hardcore, very passionate Texas and LSU fan and have never had anything other than a great experience tailgating at every opposing stadium I've visited. It's not that hard - if you are a respectful guest, engage as such, and show interest in their town/campus/team/culture you will be treated well. If you're an a-hole, you won't.
I went to The Grove the last time the Longhorns played there and had at least 4 nearby tents actively encourage us to eat their food, grab cocktails, take bottles of zing zangs/ice when ours ran out, etc. Great experience - well, except for the drunk student that rammed into the back of my rental after the game and tried to fight me when I had the audacity to get out and ask for their insurance. But in my opinion shitty fans are absolutely in the minority. I've regularly had beers pre and post-game with A&M and OU fans and I fricking hate those teams - but am mature enough to understand that they love their teams just like I do and am able to treat them as human beings one on one.

I see this crap all the time where you “just walk through there and folks will offer you food and drink and take care of you and make sure you have a good time and blah, blah, blah”…..I have literally never seen it happen. Not one time. Not at Ole Miss, not anywhere
If you’ve been to Kyle Field and weren’t invited to share in multiple tailgates you passed, allow me to apologize.
It’s poor form for the home fans not to extend hospitality to opposing fans who’ve traveled and likely don’t have a “home base” at which to hang out before kickoff.
The overwhelming majority of Ags believe that wholeheartedly and are eager to welcome visitors to their setups.

It's been about 30 years or so since I've visited Oxford and The Grove for UGA-OM. We were treated very nicely and everyone was cordial. I don't remember if food/drinks were offered to us or not, but the overall atmosphere was friendly.

Not at Ole Miss, not anywhere…I’m sure occasionally some weird circumstance brings people together, but the reality is, most visiting fans are treated like pure shite at every SEC campus save Vanderbilt, and that sucks. I guess we gotta have “mUh hOStiLe aTmosPherE bAw”…
One time at LSU. They were messing with us and we laughed and jabbed back, so they asked if we wanted some gumbo. We walked over and the guy stirring the pot was hammered, and the ashes from his cig were falling all into the gumbo.
We politely declined any food and went on our way searching for a tent with cold chicken tenders.

Well la-di-freaking-da. Look at Mr. Too Good to eat Gumbo with ashes in it. Sorry to offend your epicurean sensibilities, your highness.

go to a baseball game at state, much better atmosphere than their football games. Just as much food in the outfield as well. They'll feed you, give you a pinch of snuff, shot of moonshine and send you on your way.
