Yeah, we heard he was all MSU this whole last year. You'll forgive State fans if they've heard this before.

Still could be true? He is high on Mullen. Something tells me we'll know by the end of this weekend or early next week.

Newton will be impressed with Auburn. But then he'll probably call mullen to tell him what he's thinkin and mullen will lock him in. i have a feeling this is what their relationship is like.

These fan sites really are all speculation. Until he went to Oklahoma, he was a "definite lock for State." Then he went to Oklahoma, and he was "blown away by it all." Oklahoma fans were certain he was theirs. Now, he's all Auburn I hear.

I don't think he'd waste his time coming for a 3 day visit to turn them down.

Any time you get a chance for an all-expenses paid trip to get as much co-ed arse as you can during said three days, you take it. I damn sure know I would.

He will be wearing maroon and white this spring.

I think he's a mullen man and always has been. Dan's been there from the beginning, even when other DI teams wouldn't touch him. Auburn's just a jhonny-come-lately. I think Auburn wants him because they don't want to have to play against him.

Totally disagree with this.

AU is interested because we have 1 qb that appears to have big time potential and he is in the doghouse for some reason.

Caudle is not going to be the starter next year, he has had years to win the position and against subpar competition. Trotter has been there two years and I say the same about him. If a qb we have has been in the competition the last two years and unable to beat out Todd or Burns, I question them being a stud qb for our O. They may be able to manage and win games, but I would like to see us have a shot with couple of studs in the qb mix/race.

The coaches are interested in his athleticism. He wanted to come visit Auburn. The coaches want to get to know him better before they make an offer. If he ends up with an offer, then obviously he impressed.

I do agree with this. Our coaches were not looking to sign any qb's this year. They have said that all year. Then they find out that a stud / top rated qb may be interested (one that may be able to step in immediately). Now they want to get to know him a little better and decide if they want to use a badly needed scholly (considering our depth issues) on a qb when we have a crowded stable and did not intend to sign any qbs.

I question the quality of that stable and think if he is a fit, we sign him.

From Everything I'm hearing, he's still a Mississippi State man.

Just curious on the comment about him taking free trips to get arse. I assume Auburn is out for Christmas Break right? Most of the arse won't even be around for him to take advantage of. Its not like he's there for a game day experience with tailgating frat parties etc

When he came out of highschool he was a 4 star and we took kodi over him who was rated a 5 star at the time. Rumors are from the film he put out this past year in Juco he is not the same player that was looked at when he came out of high school, meaning his level of play has dramatically gone up. He has experience with Mullen and Mullen has really pushed to recruit him hard and has a good relationship with him that said his family wanted Auburn to offer him out of high school and really wanted him to go to Auburn. It will be interesting to see as his spot was supposed to go to a defensive recruit to help us out with depth there.

I don't know about you being fine if he doesn't commit. If you would be fine, why are ya'll pushing so hard for him?

Auburn doesn't have a clear cut starter any more than we do.

It was partially in jest. What I am serious about though is the arrogance emananting from Auburn fans when they have the same SEC record State does this season. You can't just say the word Auburn and expect the kid to jump into your arms. The last game he watched ya'll play, you lost. The only game he came to see State play (other than the practices he came to Starkville for) State went beast mode and actually beat our rival. He and Mullen walked arm and arm all over State's campus....Don't think he's a lock for Auburn.
