First I heard he was announcing today. Then I heard he had pushed the date back again. What gives?
It was partially in jest. What I am serious about though is the arrogance emananting from Auburn fans when they have the same SEC record State does this season. You can't just say the word Auburn and expect the kid to jump into your arms. The last game he watched ya'll play, you lost. The only game he came to see State play (other than the practices he came to Starkville for) State went beast mode and actually beat our rival. He and Mullen walked arm and arm all over State's campus....Don't think he's a lock for Auburn.
Auburn doesn't have a clear cut starter any more than we do.
I don't know about you being fine if he doesn't commit. If you would be fine, why are ya'll pushing so hard for him?
From Everything I'm hearing, he's still a Mississippi State man.
I think he's a mullen man and always has been. Dan's been there from the beginning, even when other DI teams wouldn't touch him. Auburn's just a jhonny-come-lately. I think Auburn wants him because they don't want to have to play against him.
These fan sites really are all speculation. Until he went to Oklahoma, he was a "definite lock for State." Then he went to Oklahoma, and he was "blown away by it all." Oklahoma fans were certain he was theirs. Now, he's all Auburn I hear.
Yeah, we heard he was all MSU this whole last year. You'll forgive State fans if they've heard this before.
Many Auburn fans are skeptical as to whether or not he'll even get an offer.
I hear a different story every time I talk to an Auburn person about this. One minute, the coaches aren't interested. The next time they talk, Malzahn is salivating over the kid. According to Newton himself, Luper is recruiting him. That's why he decided to come. Even if he isn't that into Auburn, he still probably took a free visit. This could be a perfect opportunity to turn them down like they turned him down.
i heard you guys were seeking him out. which is it. are the coaches interested or not.
Auburn didn't offer him out of high school. Speaking of which, why would you want to go to a program that didn't want you to begin with? I'm sure he remembers the rejection he felt from Auburn. It may not be a foreign though playing for Auburn, but it may be a more familiar thought playing for Mullen.
Auburn has had more success than State, so it's easier to sell your program. It's not as big a deal if you don't land one great QB. There'll be more for you...For State, we may never get the chance again.
Supposedly, the kid has a massive ego. State would be the best school for him. Auburn's fans aren't as hungry for wins as State fans are. He'd be a friggin hero here.
If we can keep him interested after this trip, I think he's ours.
TDS and Beer, I agree 100%. Do I want him at State? yes. Is it the end of the world if he doesn't come? No. At any rate, we will be better at QB this year than last almost no matter what.
No Tyler Russel was four stars I believe.
Chris Relf is only a two star QB. I'm not sure he can be made much more than he already is.
I agree. As far as most Auburn fans thinking that he is theirs to lose. Most State fans thinks he's ours to lose. No, your qb was way better than Lee. Your QB wasn't a 5'8" garden gnome.
where did you get that info from? i tell you, there are only two words to describe saban, bama fans.......evil genuis. lol
