While I agreed with most of what he said, I did find that to be a bold claim.

Only losers care about that. All I care about is wins and Championships which she brings.
LAST 5 years 170-12 . 2 NC and 5 final fours
SEC should ALL be singing Queen Dawn's praises.

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with most of it, but that was absurd.

I'm sure NBF had friends who loved him as well.

Is that the woman that sometime wears Philadelphia Eagles attire while actually coaching for a university?

How can she be Queen of the SEC when she has half as many Nattys as Patty Gasso and KJ Kindler???

A Hall of Famer who some consider the Michael Jordan of women's basketball.![]()
No one would even place her in the top 20 all-time women's basketball players.
Anyway, yeah, like I said ...
@pappygarcia
Wasn't it Allen Iverson who once said, "I remember the first time I met Michael Jordan. It was almost as big as meeting Dawn Staley."?
But I get it. I guess the "latest" Michael Jordan of women's basketball is the Clarke girl and before her it was Leslie or Tarasi or Swoops (by the way, all three of those superstars have said they admire her as the first female trailblazer "Icon & Legend," in women's college badketball, and a role model)... but, anyway, back in the day it was Staley ... which is why she was the first woman to have a Nike shoe named after her ... and Michael Jodan was there to make the announcement. Again, it doesn't really matter.
Bottom line. Dawn is not evil. And she is the most decorated woman in basketball history. That's all.
Y'all do your thing.
Regards

As a player: She was elite—a 2× Naismith College Player of the Year (1991, 1992), 4× Olympic gold medal winner (1996, 2000, 2004 & 2020 (as the coach)), 5× WNBA All-Star, college & WNBA Hall of Famer (inducted 2013), and a pioneer in pro women's leagues (ABL and early WNBA). She's one of the most decorated point guards ever in women's hoops and the most decorated women in women's basketball history.
As a coach: This is where she truly stands out. At South Carolina, she's built a dynasty with 3 NCAA championships (2017, 2022, 2024—including a perfect undefeated season in 2024 and a dominate Covid year regular season that may have resulted in a fourth NCAA title given she finished the season as the Unanimous #1 in all polls), multiple SEC titles, Final Fours, and consistent top recruiting. She's won multiple National Coach of the Year awards (including Naismith multiple times—the only person to win it as both a player and s coach). Sources describe her as one of the greatest coaches in women's basketball history, and she's transformed the program into a powerhouse while being a trailblazer as a Black female leader in the sport and in her community.
Ironically, in 2024 Michael Jordan considered making Coach Staley the first female Head Coach in NBA history.

Her team would get run out of the gym by a middle school boys team, so how "great" are they really? Try to keep things in perspective. I know you're excited to be winning at something. But come on, buddy. This is sad.

They compete against their gender and dominate. As a " girls" team they are great.
