I was there in 1989. Everyone was certain that the reason for the falloff after the Herschel years was because Vince and his staff weren’t putting the energy into recruiting. Goff had backing of influential booster group in Albany who vocally asked for Ray. We needed a young energetic recruiter who knows the Georgia people and the Georgia high school coaches.
During the Goff era, WayneMcDuffie was the de facto head coach in many ways.
