Not just because this helps Ou, but it just sucks what is happening to CFB.

He just lost his last 3 games in a row to these powerhouses: New Mexico, Oregon State & Wyoming.

He has savior written all over him.

“One of the opportunities offered to me from another school”.

Sooners straight up tampering. Guess they are SEC.

As for Mateer, he will improve OU offense. We’ll get the pieces around him. This season was a fluke with all the injuries. But now a lot of true freshmen got playing time on oline and improved late season. Throw in portals and new class it will be fine. And Mateer will attract enough receivers. And don’t discount our returning QB Michael Hawkins

Your coach is still 22-16 overall. Amazing how he’s bulletproof from OU fans and can do no wrong

Hawkins ain’t staying. Bookmark all you want. His dad is a nut and control freak and wants him starting.

Lol. He had 44 TD’s and 29 passing

In the Pac-3 lol.

He also had receivers which I don't think OU has.

Mateer news is already drawing interest from other O players. We hit bottom last week but the tide is turning

Gotta love OU fans.

“We lost because players were hurt”

Those hurt players now in the portal

“They sucked, we are better off anyways”

SoonerScoop is saying 11-1/10-2 now with the Wazzou QB

I didn’t even know who this QB was until yesterday, never heard or watched him. I saw Cam Ward last year. He supposed to be some Cam Ward?

Welcome to the new portal era in 2024. Players have agents now and the agent does the talks not the player. So its not tampering.

Everyone does this nowadays. I hate what NIL and portal have done but its the game now.

Cam Ward was nobody until Arbuckle coached him - the same coach who coached Mateer.

quote:

Washington State (2022–2023) Ward announced his commitment to transfer to Washington State on January 10, 2022.[10] He enrolled at the school for the second semester of his sophomore year and was named the starting quarterback for the 2022 season during the Cougars' spring practices.[11] Ward completed 64.4% of his passes for 3,231 yards with 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions and also rushed for five touchdowns.[12] Ward entered the transfer portal on December 1, 2023.[13] He graduated from WSU during their December commencement. On January 1, 2024, Ward declared for the 2024 NFL draft via X, formerly Twitter.[14] Miami (2024–present) He initially declared for the NFL Draft at the end of the 2023 season but later decided to use his remaining eligibility to transfer to Miami for the 2024 season.[15] This decision was influenced by the opportunity to improve his draft stock and take advantage of the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) rules in college football.[16] Ward announced his commitment to transfer to Miami on January 13, 2024.[17] During the 2024 season Ward went 10-2 with Miami, (6-2) in ACC conference play. Miami lost a close shootout at Syracuse during the final week of the season with a final score of 42-38 on November 30, 2024.

Bingo, no OU receivers.

You think we’ll have that kinda injury luck again?

You think we’re not gonna get receivers?

Eh

Cam Ward was great at Incarnate Word and was great again at Miami. Not saying Arbuckle isn’t good but he didn’t make Cam Ward.

He has a weak arm. I wouldn't bet my future on him if I were OU.

I'll be happy with anybody that doesn't overthrow every deep pass by at least 10 yards out of bounds or fumbles 2 or 3 times a game, sometimes with no contact but you enjoy JFA. You'll figure out with the F is for

Now you are downplaying him to fit your narrative. Arbuckle coached 2 really good QBs and both improved from it.

But opposing fans do what they do, try and spin any success to make themselves feel better.

We beat you at your house with limited roster and true freshman QB. Now we improved our QB room and hired a proven OC and are at home. Will be a fun game next fall.

Not downplaying at all. He’s a really good OC. Just saying he didn’t make Cam Ward.

Not spinning anything. He’s a really good OC and made Mateer who is phenomenal.

you guys have revisionist history. Can Ward was the Southland POY and was runner up for the FCS Heisman at Incarnate Word under GJ Kinne.

He threw for 4,700 yards with 47 TDs in his last season there. Yall act like he was walking on a train track with a bandana and the Wazzou OC found him out of nowhere.
