Putting an End to the Razorbacks' Delusion!

The SEC Rant has had enough of the bickering and derision that's occurred between Arkansas and Auburn fans this offseason. Since no one else will, I am putting my foot down.

Bret Bielema inherited a Wisconsin program that Barry Alvarez had built. Barry Alvarez's teams were 3-0 in the Rose Bowl. Bret Bielema's teams went 0-3 in the Rose Bowl. Furthermore, notice that two of Bielema's Big 10 championships—2011 and 2012—occurred when Ohio State was not a contender. Additionally, the Big 10 has no depth. Ohio State carried the torch for that conference during the BCS Era. Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Michigan made noise here and there, but they paled in comparison to Ohio State. Ohio State essentially was the Big 10. The Big 10 was and is one of the weakest AQ conferences; the SEC and PAC are stronger. Consider the points I have made and ask yourself "What did Bielema truly accomplish?"

On a different note, Auburn was the better fit for Malzahn. He was already familiar with the program and some of the players; he'd helped Auburn win an SEC and National Championship. Auburn already had players that were recruited for his offensive philosophy. Picking Auburn over Arkansas was a no-brainer. Please don't talk like Malzahn was scared or that Arkansas was the better program.

Jeff Long must not have done enough research and consideration when he selected Bielema. The Hawgs have aggrandized Bielema. See my first paragraph for a list of reasons why Bielema doesn't deserve to be considered a great coach.

Auburn fans, you won the SEC last season, and your future is looking bright. Your program is better than Arkansas'. Ignore them and focus your energies on Auburn's progression and the programs that will be a perennial threat to Auburn: Alabama, LSU, Georgia. Your program's hire is looking great so far. Why let the pigs rustle your jimmies? Be above them. Act like you're above them and not a team that's 2 seasons removed from an identical record to 2013 Arkansas.
