Well I guess I'll have to look for dropped winning tickets til I can see further. All's I have been able to dicipher is they still ain't making you boys like they used to. All those stay @ home moms emphasized your feelings and lowered your sense of independent thought. Fragile. Next depression they'll be selling tickets, two @ a time so you can hold hands and jump into the Mississippi.

OTOH, you at least like football. Which is the closest sport to actual war. Complete with an incredible amount of planning, training and scouting/spying and short, intense fighting. Women don't understand that but we do. We haven't got Patton but we had Paul Bryant. We haven't got Jeb Stuart and his confusing raids on the much stronger enemy but we've got the spread. We haven't got U.S. Grant and his depth and willingness to kill two and starve two of his @ Andersonville to kill a couple of yours since he could count. But we have Nick Saban who understands attrition too. So we blather on and agree to disagree. With some well earned compliments along the way. LOL!

Pruitt won't be successful at Tennessee. I don't know why anyone cares what he tries to do.

to Knoxville. I can smell it. Course this based on a WAG. He will do anything to one up Kirby on the Smith deal. And anything to the power of 100 to win.

In fairness, isn't this what Tennessee paying him to do? And wouldn't you be disappointed in Saban if he was not doing everything he could to win?

He has spoken to the parents. And is recruiting the younger Bro. who is committed to UA.

Are you saying that Saban does not recruit players who are committed to other schools? Really?

Not even in the Bizarro World where Jalen Hurts can actually beat Tua Tagovailoa for the starting qb position at Alabama. Not even in that world would Tua go to Tennessee when he could go to any other program in the nation. One that could actually compete for championships.

Disappointed? Hell I admire the ever living hell out of the self made, hard coaching, hard living, my way or the highway son of a HS coaching legend. Was secretly hoping somehow no one would pick him up and he would wind up coaching my school at some point. And he still might but I doubt it since he is going to save UT (he's saving them now it just won't show up for awhile) and they will never let him go. But hey, maybe they will. They hired Butch Davis after all. But Fulmer is back in charge and he knows. He's doing what I would do, kill everybody on the other side all and let the lord separate the good from the bad at his pleasure.

BTW, one of Tua and Hurts has to go since neither is going to sit. Problem is if it is Tua his brother won't be coming.

When was the last time Tennessee had a top flight QB? '98?

When was the last time Bama had one? None recently that’s for sure. They’ve all been serviceable at best.

My understanding is he can transfer anywhere he pleases as long as he sits out a year.

Incorrect. It doesn't start until October, so either he would have to walk off the team before the season starts, or he would lose a year of eligibility this year.

History has proven the coach @ UA has no power to restrict where a guy can go.

Incorrect again. You are getting graduate transfers mixed up with undergraduates. Saban could have stopped Smith from going to Georgia, but decided not to take the PR hit. Without Saban's approval, Smith could not have gone to Georgia and played.

quote:

I'm really looking forward to the Fromm-Fields drama. That should really be some fun. And you Georgia fans don't even begin with the "package" cop out. Fields ain't no package QB and he didn't come there for a package and was not recruited as a package QB! LOL!

Fields said if he had to redshirt his freshman year he would be willing to do that. We don't expect him to redshirt, but have some packages put in for hims and he will get some playing time. His sophomore year, will be more interesting.

Unlike you, we are not building up conspiracies in our heads and thinking of every possible way something could go wrong.

Maybe. but they would have to go and sit for a year. If I had to guess, I would say Tua will be your QB and Hurts will sit this year, then transfer. If saban plays Tua he has a great QB, then he has a good looking QB (Little Tua) coming in behind him.

If he sits Tua, is in danger of losing Tua and little brother. Seems clear cut to me.

Fields won't redshirt. All that is blather. He thinks he will be making millions in the NFL after the 2020 season. And the odds are in his favor short of an injury. So he will be a starter @ UGA or he will be gone. Cut and dried. Therefore you are in serious denial! LOL! One of Fromm/Fields has to get hurt or leave. One more time...package's azz. FSU was all over the guy and was telling him he would be the man from day one and likely he would be. He expects 100% to be the man at Georgia. He can run like a deer.

As to conspiracies re: Hurts/TUA there is none in my mind. Best guy plays, loser walks. Reality. There is an alternative again: one gets hurt. That being Hurts he still walks and that is how it should be. I'm looking for something to go right. Competition breeds champs. Hurts improves or leaves at his pleasure. Tua wins the job or steps aside.

That is not what you want to think but that is LIFE.

Damn if they ever get a QB maybe they could win some sort of title. God Bless serviceable QB's. BTW,my nephew snapped @ UT and is an Alabama fan. His son went to UA and runs faith based national org for college athletes. They are from Knoxville so I used to wonder why they would be so anxious to leave and go to the top rival. Later on I began to grasp why.
