Does Tennessee even have fan support left ? They have been complete arse for over a decade

You're a Citadel fan, and you question our 100,000+ fans at each home game about support? Bwahahaahahah

whispers about lack of institutional control and suspending athletics for the rest of this semester and perhaps the fall

Dude, you gotta stop whispering to yourself - the men in the white coats are revving up the engine

This is all because Rick Barnes had to pull a Manning on Jones

Interesting that they let Rick Barnes lead the discussion, when he's in his first year there.

Must really respect him.

ETA: I think Tennessee is gonna look bad as a result of this. They're basically just trying to take attention off of what happened by talking about how great the athletic department is. That's gonna piss some people off.

They have now had multiple female coaches say that they've told their female athletes not to go out late at night.

I don't think this is the message that should be conveyed at the moment.

That's not what they said. You call yourself a writer? Writers are supposed to be objective. Real writers don't have to misrepresent.

What they said was the same cliche thing that collegiate coaches have been telling their athletes for over 50 years.

"Nothing good happens after 10 PM".

You sit there jerking your dick at the mere suggestion of problems within the UT athletic department, and it's transparent and pathetic.

While the U of A campus has its share of problems, last I heard there was not a warning in place for all of our female athletes to travel in packs and to make sure they were safely behind locked doors at night.

Someone just asked the question I was waiting for.

These 6 women finally feel they can come out and tell their story or whatever, and then they're met by 16 Tennessee head coaches coming out to defend the university, almost sounding like they're trying to discredit these women in some way.

In principle, I agree. From a PR perspective, you don't publicly put it on your females to avoid being assaulted. That's not the message to send when you've been sued because of a perceived failure to deal with sexual assaults.

I've got a problem with this statement because it gives the automatic assumption that their accusations are true when the facts of the case are yet to be proven. The University may well be the ones in the right.

It's a civil suit. These "courageous" women have sued the University of Tennessee, not the alleged perpetrators of the crimes. This is about money, not justice. Are the coaches supposed to roll over and take it when their characters are attacked?

That's fair, but in this day in age, I'm not sure that's how you want to come across.

And a major university needs to worry about how they come across.

Like this last guy just said, they're also there for their current student athletes.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't care, nor am I saying that they shouldn't have some form of public response to the allegations, especially when some of them were named in the suit.

But that's why crafting the correct message is critical. I think there is a rather serious failure of message here.

I understand what you're saying, but the only way the PC mania will ever stop is if people stand up and say no, we're not going to cower in the corner (and write big checks) simply because someone said we're bad. We're going to fight for our name.

They should tell them that. Look at what is happening up there.
