1. Georgia
2. Texas
3. LSU
4. Ole Miss
5. Alabama
6. Oklahoma
7. Texas A&M
8. Tennessee
9. Florida
10. South Carolina
11. Missouri
12. Auburn
13. Vanderbilt
14. Kentucky
15. Miss State
16. Arkansas

I think #1 will come down to Georgia and Texas, but until the Longhorns can prove they can beat UGA, most of the media will give UGA the nod.

LSU will get the nod over Ole Miss for 3rd because the media is obsessed with Kiffin.

The REC won't stand for this.

I agree but the media seems to think Ole Miss is elite for some reason. I think some of these sportswriters are also trying to be edgy by putting Bama a bit low on their list to generate clicks which will boost a team up one or two spots higher than they should be.

Ole Miss has two of the top 6 players in the league in Lacy and Chambliss? Not sure why the media wouldn't be high on them

Bama is breaking in their most inexperienced QB to date in the Deboer era. They are a good defensive team with no run game and their most inexperienced QB play to date. Idk why anyone would be high on Bama this year until Deboer proves it

I'll do it by ranges because I think the schools will be in these groups:

1-2 - Texas or Georgia
3-5 - Alabama, Ole Miss, or Oklahoma (no particular order)
6-7 - LSU or A&M
8-11 - Florida, Tennessee, Mizzou, Auburn (no particular order)
12-16 - SC, Vandy, Kentucky, MSU, Arkansas (no particular order)

There's some truth here, but they are still a Top 5 overall team nationally in terms of talent. They played for the SEC Title and won a playoff game last season. Their schedule is somewhat favorable. IMO there's no reason to have bama lower than #4 in the SEC going into the year.

Not knowing how to use that gif appropriately is so unsurprising.

Gamecocks are getting a lot of early preseason hype again. I'd be shocked if they were 12th or lower. I think they finish 12th or lower but they will once again get propped up in the preseason.

Texas will be #1. They bring 3x as many media members as anyone else to these things and that voting block will carry them.

It's also why Texas will have a lot of players on the all-SEC media list

When don’t they have Top 5 talent?

They did last year and were embarrassed in the SECCG before they were held out of the end zone against a Big10 team and blasted by 35 with a 1st round QB under center.

It’s going to get rough for them come October and their CFP hopes will be over after their first game in November.
