They played for the SEC Title and won a playoff game last season.

Their schedule was kind of a paper tiger last year. And they were very close to being a worse team, but their experienced play kept them from losing the season. Missouri, South Carolina, and Auburn are all teams that they beat on the back of veteran play they won't have this year.

Their schedule is somewhat favorable

I disagree. I think their schedule is far harder this year than last.
South Carolina: Better this year than last
UGA: Better this year than last
@ Tennessee: Road game
Texas A&M: Should be good
@LSU: Road game and better than last year
Auburn: Better than last year

I don't see Bama doing well on this schedule, given that teams have gotten better than last year and they lost their senior 1st-round QB. That doesn't include their road games, which are harder this year, and Deboer has consistently lost to bad teams on the road

Top 5 overall team nationally in terms of talent.

They had that in 2024 too, and were not good

Bama might end up really good this year but its hard to justify it right now anymore than just saying "Its Bama"

When don’t they have Top 5 talent?

When did Bama fall off? They were a Playoff Quartfinalist last season that lost to the eventual national champ.

They did last year and were embarrassed in the SECCG

So they were Top 2 last year in the league? Out of 16? Is that what you mean?

and blasted by 35 with a 1st round QB under center

Which SEC team wouldn't have been blasted by Indiana late in the season?

It’s going to get rough for them come October and their CFP hopes will be over after their first game in November.

I hope you are right. I'm obviously not a Bama supporter and I had a pretty famous thread "Tracking the Decline" where I predicted they'd fall off. It's inevitable that Bama will decline. But I don't think it's going to come as quickly as people want to think it is. This 2026 team still has loads of talent.
