They've only lost 2 conference games. They are 5 games ahead of 2nd place.

Like the other guy said - we're SEC ready but not CWS ready.

Are you a retard? You ask any person in Omaha what team is the team they want and it’s LSU everytime.

Poor Texas can’t accept the fact that the drought will continue.

I don’t think anyone that is a Texas fan really thought we’d win a CWS title in year 1 of Schloss. I think we thought it’d come eventually but not year 1.

Especially when his ex players didn’t jump ship to Texas.

I think our program is in a good spot. We have a damn good coach and hopefully when/if Max Weiner moves on we have someone that can take his place because he has done wonders to our pitching staff.

He hasn't ever won a CWS, and his best chance was last year. But his mind was already in Austin

I have had this argument many times here, I still think Texas is the better overall program given historical win %, Omaha, conference titles, and natties (LSU has 1 more of course) but if all goes well this year we will tie it up.

Texas has the longest, deepest most long-term historically best program.

But…. Over the last 35 years, LSU is hands down, and you aren’t even close to us in this time span, the best baseball program in the nation.

I’m optimistic he will win one with his ability to coach and get the best out of his teams and the money and resources Texas can provide.

It’s easier to recruit to a blue blood than TCU and A&M now that the program is in the best conference in college sports.

He hasn’t even gotten his guys yet and having success. I believe the program is in a good spot and in a better position than we were in last year.

No arguments from me or any Texas fan there, past 35 years LSU is the #1 program,

However, lets look at the past 20 years (since you picked an arbitrary date I will too) its probably Oregon State followed by a mix of USC, LSU, Texas, Vandy and they are all debatable for the #2. But you are right if you go back 35 years LSU is the clear winner and it isnt close.

Me too. But at least we all know Texas won’t win it.

UF has to go a minimum of 5-4 in the last 9 to squeak into a regional. That’s against USCe, Texas, & Alabama. I think they’d be happy making into the tournament.

Looking at last 20 years (I’’m going to go back to 2004, since there was no season in 2020, therefore it provides a full 20 seasons).

These programs all have 2 National Championships:
LSU, Oregon St, So Carolina, Vandy

LSU has 7 CWS appearances
Oregon St has 6 CWS appearances
Vandy has 5 CWS appearances
So Carolina has 4 CWS appearances

Florida has 1 National Championship and 10 CWS appearances

Texas has 1 National Championship and 8 CWS appearances.

Texas is a very good team. Their ability to win close games is pretty amazing. We’ll see if it’s able to continue in the postseason. We know they’ll be home until Omaha so they won’t have to worry about it until then. I am interested to see how they perform in their first big road test.

Pulling out arbitrary dates doesnt change the fact that its 7 to 6 for the programs which is as close as it gets.

Can you name one other way LSU is better than Texas historically?

Not really sure what were arguing about here. LSU and Texas both have incredible baseball tradition. As a Texas fan I like seeing my team playing LSU, feels right. As a college baseball fan it's basically Yankees vs Red Sox... please take metaphor on face value and dont dive in

Would be awesome if we could develop a serious Texas vs LSU college bball rivalry given we are now in the same conference.

Quite possible

However what happened to Tennessee in 2022 happening to Texas this year. Everybody in Austin is on a high horse and thinks thier invinsible and some team is gonna come into a super regional in your house and upset you. One reason i feel this way is because of the injuries.

No doubt a great team with a bright future wit Schloss at the helm

I think you are assuming a few fans are indicative of the entire fan base. The injuries and eventual bad luck very well might get us. You don’t lose an all American and best pitcher and not have it impact your team. We have been very lucky to date with 1 run games which easily could make us 5+ losses more.

Everyone I speak with knows we are ahead of schedule and Schloss is doing an awesome job this year. However in a best of 3 format all it takes is dropping a game and the whole season is down to win or go home
