Just hard to see how you fix the offense. Not that it was great last year. but looks even worse despite Mateer supposedly working on things.
I expect him to run more this week and won't be surprised at all if this turns into the Auburn game last year where we struggler early and end up in come back mode. This isn't the defense you want to be in that position against.
It is good that we are in Athens.

Yes our offense sucks. Oline in disarray. OC not calling runs when it is there (Michigan game). QB making wrong run/pass decisions and throwing INTs.
Its a work in progress. Last year Mateer was great before injury. So we know he has it in him. Our TE room is new and learning blocks but can catch the ball. Receivers have actually been open often but not seen by QB. RBs have not been given a chance to get into game (changed too often). They need reps to see defense and learn tendencies.
If they can figure out just some of this then the rest falls in place fast. Oline blocks then QB can throw and RBs run. That opens up PAP. Throw in TE game, ours do not drop the ball so its just a matter of getting it to them.
I fully expect our offense to play like shite. And OC to call jet sweeps with WR instead of running the running back. And Mateer to take sacks. But one of these games we’ll surprise I just don’t know when

It’s bad enough OU has both the #1 and # 2 teams in the country back to back. They then follow those two games with a very much improved UK team that is capable of getting some big scalps this season. Then they follow that game up with maybe one of the hottest teams in the country right now in Moo St. Then they have the Cocks and jump in to another brutal stretch with another hot team in UF. Chambliss will be hard for anyone to stop. A&M could bounce back yet the jury is still out on them. Certainly have enough talent to beat OU. Then lastly OU will have a Misery team that will smell blood. If OU loses to Misery then OU fans will not know a day of peace for 365 days lol. It could get pretty rough for Sooner fans this year. And to add insult to all that injury the head coach received a contract extension last season I believe so getting rid of him may not be possible. That’s tough.

He has mostly struggled against above average to elite defenses. Even when he's had good pass numbers he turns it over. If he doesn't turn it over, he doesn't really move the ball well. You can win Saturday, but the defense will need to play like it did vs. Bama in your win last year or against Tennessee.
We've lost games like that before. S. Carolina 2019 comes to mind.
We're better on offense than that UGA team, but you all are a good deal better on defense than SC was.

Totally agree, that’s why I said if this version of your QB is finishing the year then Mizzou is going to try to take out generations of suffering on you.
