He's pissed off at Les Miles there in the 2011 game, I think for running up the score

Arky vs. LSU in 2011 - the game where Honey Badger ran back a punt that sparked the team to come back and win. Big. Petrino was pissed at Les for going for it on 4th down late in the game. But Les had earlier taken criticism after kicking a late field goal against Ole Miss in a similar situation. So he figured he'd go for it and at least give Arky a chance to get the ball back. Can't win for losing.

That's only part of it. Year before, we beat y'all in Little Rock and had it 1st and goal from your 2 yard line but mercy knee'd to let the clock run out. Petrino could have run up the score, but chose not to do that. He was pissed because Miles didn't extend the same courtesy to him. By that point, the game was well in hand for LSU.

Huh. This is the first time I've seen/realized this happened. His 2011 reaction makes a lot more sense now.

Petrino is a dick head, but him being pissed had some merit as to why.

Yeah, Les never could figure out proper clock etiquette. Like in 2011 when he decided to run out the clock in the 4th quarter against Ole Miss by taking 4 knees inside the 1 yard line. The problem was, there was over 5 minutes left in the game. It totally infuriated the Ole Miss defense and he came off looking like a savage idiot savant.
Which in hind sight, is pretty accurate

I always said that LSU won games despite him being the HC. He is one of the stupidest individuals to ever coach the game. When LSU gets the type of talent that they do though, you can win games strictly based on out-talenting (despite an inept HC) the other team.

The issue with that is Ark would have been an idiot to do anything BUT take the knee. That wasn't good sportsmanship, it was the correct call.
