It's always been a thing but it seems to be more common to me in recent years. No reason not to try it and it does work sometimes. I really like it when teams fake the fake and actually run a play.

I start by frying the chicken. Then I make the roux from the seasoned flour used to bread the chicken and some of the oil used to fry it.
