You hadn't converted a third down in the 2nd half. You had a shade over 100 yards of total offense in over 29:00 minutes of offensive football. But when it counted, you executed brilliantly down the field and converted time after time. Without a timeout. Without any margin for error.

There were shite calls, strange calls and non calls. There was a crowd like we have rarely seen in Death Valley, and gutsy play on both sides. In the end, a veteran group of skill players led by a shaky but ultimately just enough to get the job done type performance from a program, veteran type QB did just that. They got the job done.

You met our young guns on defense (Beckwith, Adams, and Godchaux) and offense (Dupre, Fournette et al) and you bested us at home. I have a feeing you will have your hands full next fall in T-Town.

But Saturday Night you won the game. Congrats on a tough, physical game. You bring it on both sides of the ball. I'm proud we did too. The stars may not have shown as brightly as they have the past four years, but the competition and-yes dammit I'm saying it-the RIVALRY was white hot Saturday.

Thanks for another classic, heavyweight fight. We may have 3 notches in the L column, but I think you and everyone else knows that while you may be the baddest son of a bitches on the block these days, we can toe the line and give as good as we get.

You won. Enjoy it. Till next year.

Best post about this game that I've read.

BTW. It's obvious that LSU had the best recruiting class in the county last year. Fournette and Adams are both future NFL stars most likely.

LSU is going to be pretty tough next year. It'll be a battle once again but we'll be rebuilding.

Again, I was super impressed with Tiger Stadium. That place was awesome. Two days later and Louisiana Saturday Night is still stuck in my head. Just get rid of the piped-in Jock Jams music and it would've been perfect.

Thanks. I have fumed privately to my circle the past two days but it's over. I will say this...I agree 100% re: Fournette. G-Funk Sr. (My Dad in other words) is convinced Fournette is our #3 back behind Magee and Hilliard. I'm mystified by his take but he's honestly not alone.

They all 3 run the exact same plays: right of center, left of center. They are different and should be used differently. It's pathetic how LF is being used.

Both will be scary good. Adams is much better than advertised.

The folks I know in recruiting said that once we went after Adams to replace Hootie and committed him, the Decommitment stuff was a smokescreen orchestrated by Bama's staff to make Adams waver.

He was the #1 Safety in America and a five star recruit so I'm not sure how poorly advertised he was. I think perhaps Tide Fans were excited to get a 4 Star from North Louisiana but at the end of the day it was universally agreed that we traded out to a far, far better talent to replace him in Adams.

Lane Kiffin took a giant dump on chavis when it mattered. He pulled together a great drive to outsmart chavis and miles. then in OT he pulls the gus play and lines a tightend up at tackle and we are fooled once again. It's time for chavis to hang it up if he the same trick plays are fooling him.

Classy post. You just don't see many of them these days. That said,LSU deserved to win. These kinda games happen often where one team outplays the other for 59 minutes and loses in the final minute. We've been on the fortunate end more times than I can count. I won't complain about it. What I will do is say your team played with more class and heart than I can remember in a long time. This matchup has truly become more of a Rivalry than the Iron Bowl, IMO. Go ahead, flame suit is on.

Alabama/LSU is the best rivalry in football today. Just like Coach Bryant and General Neyland had mutual respect, so do Saban and Miles. And Neylands famous quote "you never know what a football player is made of until he plays Alabama" is perfectly applicable to this game - it's the game that the players on both sides measure themselves.

We're both Tiger a Fans. Reading your post I totally understand how you feel. I say all that to say this.

Shut the frick up. Seriously. Turn off the breakers in your house. Turn off your router. Unplug your keyboard. Chop off your fingers. Then feed them to yourself.

You're a disgrace.

Heartbreak has some kind of personal issue with Chavis. He's constantly trashing him.

You are without a doubt are a real LSU fan, and not among the idiot fanbase fans. GREAT POST, and I look forward to us playing LSU every year. LSU can indeed go head to head with anyone anytime.

Alabama had 316 yards of total offense. They gained 90 yards of offense and scored 10 points in the final 50 seconds and the first overtime (65 yard FG + 25 Yard TD).

226 yards of total offense after 59:10 of football? We single covered the best receiver in America and ran Man Under all night without bracketing coverage or dedicating a safety.

We did this without our starting Freshman All Amerian CB who was suspended this week.

Screw anyone who acts like the Defense had an issue.

GFunk,

Great post. I agree with all that you said here.

Till next year.

As for the Bama fans thumping their chests about how they dominate LSU, that's fine if it makes them feel better about their lives. I won't deny them that. But, anyone who watches these games and says that they aren't absolute wars and doesn't respect either team for what they bring to these contests is not really much of a fan of the game of football.

Hats off to Alabama. Best team in the land and LSU always seems to fall a bit short. It will rectify at some point but we'll have to wait another year for the chance. So it goes.

I think we're looking at another GOTC-type matchup next season. There's so much talent and experience returning for both teams it's ridiculous.
