Yeah, it's so obvious that the word "alcoholic" has been used by exactly...nobody in the local, state or national media.

You're making it sound like he slept through a class. We're talking about an event he committed to represent Texas A&M university and the Manning family, which he knew would be covered by the national media. I can honestly say I've never slept through something like that because I was too fricked up. If I ever did, I would probably stop and think maybe I had a problem, not go out to get fricked up again.

What media member is going to come out and call him an alcoholic publicly? Come on now.

Posted on 7/15/13 at 5:47 pm to BluegrassBelle
exactly. It's the same idea as the media not claiming Henderson is a drug addict.

Skip Bayless, Gregg Doyel, Pat Forde, probably Jason Whitlock.

Why not? They did it with Garcia.
We just went through a year and a half of the American media calling a Hispanic guy "white", posting his SS# on the air and lying about his "violent" past to serve an agenda and you think they are beyond calling a 20 year old athlete an alcoholic?

You can take him off that list.

Except that baseless accusations about famous people are not only common but the norm these days.
If there was ANY solid evidence that he was an alcoholic, every reporter from Bryan/College Station to Bristol would be throwing out the term. Why? What gets more news than the Heisman trophy winner being an alcohol abuser.
Posted on 7/15/13 at 5:52 pm to Roger Klarvin
They're not baseless though. We know he got too drunk to attend an event that he was supposed to attend. We know his camp lied about it and he was out drinking that very night. People are judged by their actions, not what skip bayless says about them. Those actions are textbook alcoholic behavior whether he is one or not.

Thank you for naming this thread like that. I hope it works. Today got out of hand.

Joe Kane was an alcoholic heisman trophy candidate and it never got out.

He was clearly Abel.
