Alex Box is hilariously overrated as an atmosphere and stadium quality as a whole. The old box got unbelievably loud. It's not that the new box never gets loud, but it is a shell of its predecessor. Alex Box can't be in the discussion until we get rid of bush league bleachers and get a student section similar to what Ole Miss and now Alabama have.
Joe Alleva is a good athletic director.LSU had 10 sports in the top 10 last spring and more on the way. He's handled some fantastic facility projects. Alleva has made great hires, a few misses (but all AD's do). He has given Miles and Maineri everything at their disposal to win, and their records are too impressive to fire them anyways. Alleva has absolutely crushed Bertman as an AD.

It was embarrassing to MSU and the poor girl and she was ridiculed to quit. I don't like the fact that her grandfather put that condition on a donation and I don't like the fact that MSU took it with that condition.

I agree on both of your points.
The worst part about LSU fans is their obsession with Alabama. My experience is that they would rather watch Bama lose than LSU win. LSU's fanbase is so freaking jealous of Bama's success. It's really pathetic and makes me cringe. I personally respect that program but get killed for saying that I don't hate them nor do I hate when they win OOC games such as the NC tonight.

outside some of the aesthetics like the outfield wall looking like the yellow pages and lack of chairbacks allthe way down the lines, I have no issues with the design

1. It's an embarrassment that my alma mater basically has it's entire image crafted around a football program.

Here's an unpopular opinion to many, I think Paul Mainieri has overall done a great job. I think the expectations of him my much of the fan base are completely unrealistic and/or entitled

My rationale is that it's obviously just the first phase of where LSU would like Alex Box to be. Still, it's little details like bleachers, bricking around the scoreboard, etc that distinguish the Box from Baum in bad ways. luckily they're all fixable.
Skip's worst project by far has to the the west side renovation of TS. What in the actual frick were we thinking?

Interesting, I will discourage my kids from attending MSU for a different reason - which is also an unpopular opinion.
Outside of a couple of niche programs (meteorology, mainly), a Mississippi State education is not looked on favorably outside the state of Mississippi and definitely not outside the region (which is fueled by SEC membership)
That's not entirely fair, but its the truth.
