Then I guess UGA never performing like a top 10 program is just an anomaly no one will ever be able to explain

My responses have nothing to do with the idiot OP.

Really?

I don't think it's much of a stretch to say UGA is a top 5 job.

Ive posted 4 different links that explained why it's a top 5 job and I can easily find more.

Its what this entire discussion is about.

No idea why you fail to comprehend the point.

UGA has performed like a top 10 program since Richt took over 20 years ago.

Okay? How many NC's has Miami played for?
they have won 5 since UGAs last

Nebraska? 5 total 3 since UGAs last one

FSU? 3 since UGAs last one.

Wow, the point went completely over your head.

So all those schools are a better job now because they played for NC's?

Miami?FSU? Nebraska?

Alabama, USC, Florida, OSU, Clemson, Auburn, LSU, FSU, and Texas have all won national titles in that time frame. There are also programs like Oklahoma and Notre Dame that are better jobs. Then you have schools like Penn State, Michigan, and Miami that could win plenty with the right coach.

I don't dispute there are resources UGA has, but there are plenty of programs that have comparable resources. UGA fans never want to admit their coaching is subpar. So there has to be some reason UGA is always left at the altar. Right?

And what makes a job a better job than another? Money? Ability to win titles? Security? Location? Historical success? Culture? Administration? Booster over/under-involvement? Competition? Conference?

Yes UGA is in a great state for high school talent. They have comparable resources to at least 15 other programs. What do you think sets them apart? Because some articles written by journalists says they are?

If UGA is a top 5 job, why did they hire a guy who had never coached before to take over for Richt? Why didn't they try to land a big fish with a long track record? Why is UGA always left at the altar? If it's a top 5 job, why can't they ever win a national title? These are all fair questions, btw. At a certain point, you have to consider maybe it's not a top 10 job if the results never live up to it.

Because Kirby was an ideal fit.

In regards to your other questions, there were major questions about UGA’s financial and institutional commitment to winning in football until about 5-6 years ago. Atlanta was also not always the urban hub that it is now. UGA’s desirability has ridden that wave.

UGA in 1995 was not a top 10 job. It absolutely is at least that now.

Consistent and sustained winning matters in these kind of discussions. Being awesome in the 90's and then sucking does too.

If ya really think Miami,PSU,FSU,Michigan and Auburn are better HC jobs currently than UGA there 's absolutely no point in this discussion. There isn't one serious CFB journalist that would agree with you.
UGA had 2 teams right on the edge of a NC in that time period and if not for luck, bad calls, bad bounces it didn't happen. If you don't think luck played a part in LSU winning in '07 I don't know
what to tell ya.

There are? UGA had over a $100 million reserve fund going into this season. How
many schools have those type of resources?

They don't? Richt's coaching and recruiting was subpar the 2nd half of his career and Kirby certainly has had some head scratching moments but is a net gain BY FAR over Richt.

All the above.

I just posted 4 different, independent articles that listed UGA at least as a top 7 job (3 had an at a top 5)

Why do you think they did this? Some massive pro UGA conspiracy exist in sports journalism? Some type of pro Athens love affair?

Here ya go. Three more articles You think all these folks are just completely clueless?

Like who? Mullen? Thank God that didn't
happen and Kirby was obviously the best fit at the time and his track record has proved as much.

What? UGA has finished in the top 10 four straight years.

No idea of your point.
