Coach Boom has a whole lot of work to do if this is going to happen next year.

I don't understand why people keep saying this.
6 from your own and 2 from the other would keep it at 8 and cause much less problems.

USCe president claiming 9 game schedule. New negotiations with ESPN, may have to deal with this wanting more conference games.

Does this mean all SEC teams lose big on ticket sales for one less cupcake-eating home game every other year? If true, SEC better address this issue in the new TV deals with ESPN and CBS.

got the schedule from sic em dogs, and replaced north texas with missouri....i think, that if the season starts on the 31st of august it allows for 2 bye weeks...but that's what it showed??

there is no way we play a schedule with 7 away and 5 home games. it simply won't happen

It will be at 8, but then move to 9... As an example if you stay at 8, Auburn plays UF only 2 times (home and home) every 12 years... So look for a 9 game schedule starting in 2014. Part of the compromise...

im sure it the mizzou game might be home, this is just speculation based on how the schedule is currently..also we had 2 open date in 2008 as well, so I guess it all depends on if the games start the last weekend in August and if Championship weekend is the second week in december?... like i said before I just replaced NT with Mizz... I arbitraily chose away.

its like the SEC wants to be less successful..
adding crap teams
going to 9 game conference schedules
teams losing home games
curtailing over signing
we'll be lucky to get the streak to 10 straight titles..

I'm hoping the 9 conference games stuff turns out not to be true
I hate the idea because of what it does to competitive balance in the league (playing an uneven number of home and road in conference games every year is fundamentally unfair)
Keep the 8 conference games, if we must have a fixed opponent then we'll just rotate one opponent from the opposite division. That sucks but is better than disrupting the competitive balance every year
