Possibility that Texas A&M will play two fewer games this season?

With the news re: California state schools not holding on-campus classes this fall and today’s article (AZ Republic) that the Pac-12 has discussed dropping non-conference football games in 2020, that would eliminate both Fresno State and Colorado from A&M’s 2020 schedule.

I’m wondering if that means our athletic department will scramble to plug two vacancies, or if we’ll simply play two fewer games?

Are any of y’all’s teams facing similar predicaments?

It means you won’t be in the playoffs

I mean you just took what somebody said in a thread about California systems schools and Tamu and made a thread about it instead of just talking about it there.

I missed the discussion about the Pac-12 (e.g., Colorado); I only saw the CA state schools (e.g., Fresno State) dialogue.

Wasn’t trying to clutter the board.
Mods, feel free to flush.

No.
They’re a CA State school.

Avoiding the OOC losses that wreck people's perception of the PAC every season and then hoping that the Big 12 has a 2-loss champion is their only hope of a getting a team in the playoff.

EKG, you are kind to a fault, my friend.

If we lose those games, it means other schools will be looking, too. We might find a quick replacement.

This. There would be quite a few schools that would need to get replacement games if the entire Pac12 canceled out on everyone.

If they are lucky maybe this can finally get everyone in the conference to finally get on the fire Larry Scott train.

Here is the Pac Schedule week 3.

ARIZONA at Texas Tech

BYU at ARIZONA STATE

USC at STANFORD

UCLA at San Diego State - Part the CA schools closing?

COLORADO at Texas A&M

UTAH at Wyoming

Hawai’i at OREGON

Portland State at OREGON STATE

Utah State at WASHINGTON

Idaho at WASHINGTON STATE

Bye: CALIFORNIA

While they aren't as attractive as Colorado, I wouldn't mind playing BYU or even Tech if they'd be willing to give up a home game (doubtful).

During week 7 (when A&M plays Fresno) most of the Pac is in conference play, but Stanford is scheduled to play Notre Dame. Now that would be a fun replacement.

It won’t matter
aTm still loses to bama, LSU and Auburn without a doubt
Probably loses one more to either State, arkanshit or ole piss.

It doesn’t matter how many games aTm plays, they will still be losers. The Statue of Liberty was still wearing a training bra last time aTm won anything of significance. Why would it change now?
Hint, it won’t. aTm was just meant to suck. No two ways about it.

Do y’all ever get tired of this? We can’t have a single conversation without your diarrhea posts.

Thanks, Farmer—good stuff.
Tech would be fun; but I agree with you that they’re not going to give up a home game (understandably so).
BYU would be my second option.

Crazy times.
A year ago, who’d a thought we’d be having this conversation?
Life turns on a dime.

I wonder if we could make it work by breaking the CU contract then have a return trip to *barf* Lubbock. Now that’s a downgrade of a trip.

Texas Tech seems like the obvious replacement, but that's a home game for them. They might not want to give that up. Neutral field in Jerry World?

Otherwise, I'd have BYU on speed dial.

I hope your AD has already called South Bend and begun talks.

I’m to the point where I don’t think I’d care where we played—Lubbock included.
I just want to see the boys play.

Something tells me we’d likely try to bring in a Sam, SFA, or PVAM instead, though.
The local B/CS merchants will be clamoring for $.

That's an extremely valid point. Everyone's strapped for cash, and these smaller schools will be desperate for a payday.
