I do think scheduling would be easier with 16, 4 pods. Just not do sure any of the teams everyone wants , has a legitimate reason or wants to play in the sec. The path to the playoffs will be much easier where they are. We're only gonna get teams who are not already in the big 5. , but make no mistake all 5 will go to 16. Probably right about the time they say 4 isn't enough we need 8 teams.

There is no way they pick OU and OSU. Those are very small TV markets. It will be some teams in N Carolina and Virginia.

My vote is YES if, they do the 4 pods type scheduling!

Didn't want us to add 2 more when we did.

While I think NC and VA would be the states to expand to(I would prefer UVA and UNC).
Unfortunately ACC teams are out till the GOR goes away. That leaves ECU and ODU(will be FBS in '14, and prolly the best football team in the state by 2020)

16 would actually work much better than 14 if you did 4 pods of 4. Teams would play each other more frequently. Would feel more like a conference imo.

For money reasons, I would hope they be from new states.

Hopefully they do the pods(or roommate switch) if we go to 16. Otherwise we are screwed as far as playing the other division.

We aren't adding Texas or Oklahoma. End of discussion.

Yes if and only if we do not add any more Yankee teams. Ie only add from states that were in the Confederacy or Oklahoma as it was not a state then so could not have joined the Confederacy. Those are the states that are both southern and eastern. No other states should be added.

A double yes if expanding has us kick out any or all of Missouri, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.

No if we have to add any more fricking Yankees.

4 pods is a terrible idea.

We're not getting any ACC teams for a long time. The GOR deal ensures that any money the conference would stand to make from these teams would go directly to the ACC. What's the point?

And to the buffoons that think schools can weasel their way out of it,

a) You have no idea the control Swofford has on the conference
b) If the ACC learned anything in the Maryland saga (which I think can unanimously agreed upon that the ACC won the Maryland - Louisville transaction) is that they made sure there was no way a school could squirm their way out of it anymore
c) For the first time in a long time all schools seem to be very happy with the direction the ACC is going. UNC will never leave because the ACC bows down to kiss their arse every chance they get... Only conference where the commish graduated from a member school (Swofford-UNC)
d) the only schools that actually make sense from a football standpoint are FSU and Clemson; UF and USCe will NEVER allow that.

Yes but only those who mean bucks to the current members. North Carolina, Va Tech, Okla

but nobody who will have their Southern credentials challenged unless extraordinary circumstances

I think we will eventually go to 16 teams, as it will make scheduling easier. But I'mnot for expanding unless it's good for the conference. Adding Texas A&M and Missouri was good for the conference financially, academically and competitively (in various sports.) Right now I don't know who we could add that would fit those criteria.

We don't want Texas and their conference-killing ego. And we already have a Texas team. Oklahoma is a small state in terms of population, so adding OU and OSU (tied together politically) would decrease everyone's financial payout. Plus, their academics are poor.

The best expansion candidates would be in North Carolina and Virginia. My preference would be UNC and UVA. They would make a lot of sense financially, academically and competitively in various sports. But, they seem to be tied more tightly to the ACC now than they were a year ago.

For right now, I see us staying at 14 teams. Until the landscape changes again.

Yes.. It's inevitable, the SEC is at the top right now, so get it while the getting is good.
