LSU fans resented:
A. getting matched up with Florida as their permanent cross division rival when the SEC went to 12 teams and split into divisions. LSU had a very long-running annual rivalry with Kentucky that I guess the fans would have preferred (I personally like being matched up with Florida as it's usually one of the best and biggest games of the season)
B. Spurrier used to routinely run up the score and curbstomp LSU all through the 90's as a result.
C. Florida fans in Gainesville have a well earned reputation of being absolute jerks to opposing fans.

This recent stuff with the AD's and the hurricane is only icing on the cake.

The beginning of this confirms that I am correct and your initial post was bullshite. LSU fans were obviously pissed BEFORE the game, as you implicitly acknowledge here, particularly when it looked like the game may not be played at all, which was a very real possibility. Yes, LSU fans talked shite about beating Florida's arse, but that is irrelevant to whether or not they were pissed at Florida as a result of the cancellation fiasco, not after losing the game which was only many, many weeks later. The unique degree shite talk prior to this game was sparked by what? LSU fans being pissed about the way Florida handled the cancellation. This is very rudimentary timeline analysis here.

That Florida fans have every right to gloat and rub it in LSU's face that they won the game after the incessant LSU shite talking is something I haven't even seen any LSU fans deny. Again, no one is pissed at Florida for winning. That's the goal of every team in every game. Your arguments make no sense and are corroborated by nothing.

Period.

And once again you completely miss the point of my post.

If LSU wins, this isn't even a discussion on this board right now, which is the point.

Your whole soliloquy about being pissed off before the game is bullshite.

All of this. LSU put the entire game on the line in one play which they failed to execute. When it mattered, Florida was the better team. It's disappointing, but it is what it is. That doesn't make me angry. What made me angry was how that game even came to be played that weekend in Baton Rouge in the first place. It was such an unnecessarily sloppily handled affair that turned into a national embarrassment. I remember the day it was postponed indefinitely going home from work absolutely fuming with rage. The entire office basically did nothing but vent the rest of the afternoon after the announcement.

You left work because they postponed a football game?

Eh, some of it is but I think most of it is just in good fun at this point. They troll us, we troll them. When someone has a good joke at Florida's expense, I laugh. It's not all that serious.

I agree with this. I don't really think fanbases are very different. There's always the rare exception but every fan base has good and bad. LSU fans can be obnoxious at times but are some of the most hospitable fan bases in the country.

LSU fans went absolutely apeshit when Florida pussed out over the hurricane instead of making alternate plans. The rest of us did our absolute best to fan the flames into a raging inferno.

Sorry, poor choice of wording. I was still mad when I left work at the end of the day. The whole office was just completely unproductive after the announcement, so we may as well have.

The Rant Protocol demanded that we all pour gasoline into that bonfire of hatred. Its in the bylaws for the site.

Dan Mullen has gone deep state and is plotting to destroy all programs by fanning the flames of hate, inserting administrations with his goal(stricklin), and leaking information to the NCAA.

No it's not, it directly refutes your false narrative that LSU fans are only pissed with Florida because we lost. The fact that you can't refute the obvious truth that they were pissed long before the game is clear as day.

You can keep repeating "they're only mad because we beat them" all you want, but a valid argument that doesn't make.

It's clear that you are not trolling, you are one of the tards that actually believes what you are saying to be true because your fandom won't let you accept as possible that Florida acted purely in their own perceived self interests during the weather incident and was willing to lie and frick LSU over if need be. That's where the hostility came from and, again, anyone who posts on this site knows it.

You're entitled to your opinion and I don't share it. This is one of the rare times I think most LSU fans were quite pleased with our AD with his calling for the game to be played, just like the other games in the same region were played. Unfortunately Florida's AD held all the leverage in that spot and then he completely out maneuvered Alleva with the reschedule and getting Florida two back to back home games.

Florida's AD won the day but that doesn't mean LSU didn't have a legitimate grievance. We did.

I think this is a basic thought that LSU and Fla fans are of a completely different understanding. LSU can and does things a little, actually a lot different from Florida when it comes to organizing and running events. Florida would never think to throw something together this large at the last minute because it would open itself to too many lawsuits. Florida is a very litigious state and living in Texas and other places outside Fla is a hoot when it comes to things like this.

Florida has been at the forefront of banning storming the field/court since the late 80's. Even Vanderbilt's eggheads continue to do this. Not in Florida, no way. So while all the LSU fans were looking at us and saying play the game, I knew there was no fricking way we would slap some shite together at the last minute like probably any other SEC school would.

Louisiana is probably the most litigious place in the world. Due to that, they have contingency plans in place for everything. The difference between the two states is that Louisiana is prepared to throw things together at the last minute because they plan for it. They keep their resources staged and ready to go. For every game at Tiger Stadium, especially during hurricane season, there's a backup plan made with potential replacement venues or dates for a makeup.

UF was trying to gain an upper hand by not cooporating when LSU made suggestions. The fact that UF didn't have a plan is negligence in and of itself.

Trying to be nice here, but LSU has it's priorities out of whack.

The fact that your whole office was in melt down mode over a football game tends to give credence to the very point I am making. It is a fricking football game. Get over it.

And Louisiana isn't even close to the most litigious place in the world.
