Excellent point! Much higher probability of blowing out a knee than dying from COVIDs. Like million to 1.

Anyone that thinks this COVIDs chit is NOT 99% political is a moran.

Seems like a really false comparison, as people die from blown knees less frequently than dying of corona.

i had it back in early February, three days of a low grade fever and lost my sense of taste and smell, about 5 days of fatigue and about two weeks of breaking out in cold sweat for no apparent reason.

i'm 59 so i'm on the bubble as far as age goes, most people won't even know they have it.

you're an idiot but i don't have to tell you that.

Wrong...several of my family members had it and it was no different than a cold. You’re probably just friends with a bunch of 350 pound Bama trailer trash fatties. If you’re young and healthy this is a nothingburger.

This is disingenuous. When's the last time a football player or any other athlete died of a blown out knee?
How much more likely are they to get the virus than blowing out a knee?

Completely agree with this. And to the former quote I do agree with the premise of the argument. The virus is completely overblown and is headed towards damaging the US economy to levels we can't really comprehend yet. Living in fear is not the American way and these socialists changing that narrative need to be stopped. All I can say is people better get from behind their keyboards or phone screens and vote for Trump Nov 3 or we are just in the beginning of the mess.

I had it and it sucks, and I'm only 32. Age doesn't seem to matter with what symptoms you'll get. And I have no underlying conditions. For instance I had the breathing issues but a 56 year old I know didn't.

Just for reference I'm 6'0, 165 lbs.

That’s the problem. Don’t know anyone that’s had it.

It's hard to accidentally pass CTE on to your parents/grandparents.

Every country on earth has collapsed their economy through shutdowns because of American politics and media they care little about?

Interesting argument. Please develop further.

Per the CDC, your chance of dying from Covid exposure, if you happen to be under 55 and healthy, is...

0.0007%, or 7 deaths per million

Your chance of dying from a bee/wasp sting in any one year is 0.0002%, or 2 deaths per million

I fear neither

According to CDC’s website, the USA averages 62 deaths per year from wasp or bee stings. That is roughly one death per 5 million people.

Where are you getting 18 deaths per 100,000? That would be around 57,000 deaths a year if it were true, which it is obviously not.

I had it a couple of weeks, never ran a fever, had a cough, or shortness of breath.

Just fatigue for about 7 days and no taste or smell.

To make this comparison you excluded those over 55 in one group, and included them in the 2nd group. Didn't know mental gymnastics was this big on Sunday mornings.

Oh, ok. That list is not chance of death per year.

That list is the change of death in an entire lifetime.

Completely different statistical analysis. Year to date, the Rona has killed some 160,000 Americans (and yes, the actual numbers are suspect, we will never know exactly how many). It will probably end the year as the #3 cause of death behind heart disease and cancer.

There are two forces in opposition: Globalism and Nationalism.

Trump, Brexit, and Hong Kong are essentially under the same heading. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

A pandemic is well suited to furthering the advance of globalism. Globalisms biggest obstacle is the US as the worlds lone superpower. It has been in decline for the last decade, but a return to nationalist tendencies would reverse that.

I can’t make you see it, but there’s another narrative to consider if you’re willing.

“Never let a crisis go to waste.”

What?

Global trade has plummeted because of the pandemic, and globalism is currently in retreat.

Heck. Go to any department store and look at all the empty shelves that used to be stock full of Chinese goods that are no longer there if you want an anecdotal and tangible image of how much global trade has collapsed.
