In the old rules, that hit would e called Spearung & player would be penalized
In the old rules the play would be shown on college footballs greatest hits. The game is much softer now.

Cornelius Bennet’s sack on the Notre Dame QB would be flagged these days. Too many want the game to go softer, prefer offense and points to hard hitting defenses.

Saban is one of the few coaches that doesn't use fake injuries to stop momentum or the clock.
I'm sure he would use bounties though.

Still melting about your charmin-soft QB getting broken in half?
Posted on 11/7/23 at 8:49 am to Wulfgar
Nice tackle by DT! If I was Saban I would be complaining about it even being a penalty. Alabama got shafted on that hit...talk about unfair officiating. The corndogs got a first down when it shouldn't have.

Most people want to protect QBs as they make the game what it is. You can work out and get as strong as you want but your head is still exposed. Head hunting a Qb is not tough and blind side blocks aren’t either.

Are you people still whining about this? Damn pansies.

Stop it. The argument for inconsistency if enforcement of the targeting rule is certainly there, but this whole smear campaign is stupid. He’s a physical player who’s good at getting to the quarterback. Stop making it more than it is. Take the L and move the frick on.

I just got dumber reading this trash...
I'm actually schedule to testify in front of Congress on how Alabama should be banned from the NCAA for hitting people. That type of violence is unacceptable in flag football.
