Might not hurt to have some chains for your tires in the trunk, just in case.

Judging by a couple posts in this thread, LSU fans need to take notice to something....when a hotel says they're 5 minutes from campus, that is not an easy walk. They are referring to a car ride. The terrain here is much different than Baton Rouge. Its hilly as hell. Even on campus you get a hell of a workout walking from one side to the other. Heck, you can get a good worhout on gameday unless you park and tailgate in the Pit.

I've been to Fayetteville and NW Arkansas at least 30 times. Very hilly and very beautiful (at least Fayetteville is). I'm not a fan of Springdale/Rogers/Bentonville, but Fayetteville is an absolutely gorgeous city.

I love the square up there and enjoy the restaurants and bars along Dickson St.

Fayetteville, Oxford, and Athens are, without question, the 3 best college towns in the SEC.

Looks like we have an old time Arkansawyer who doesn't respect and appreciate the contributions Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made to this country. Tell me old man exactly why you continue to call it 6th street?

I know it was not me you quoted, but yes I am old, yes I call it 6th (even though I also put mlk) because it was 6th when I went to school there. So what.

My stop whenever I am up there. Course if the wife is with me I have to stop at us pizza too. Btw, I ate a couple for you last week.

I agree with Athens, but hated Oxford. I am hoping this trip will be more like Athens than Oxford. How are the drinking laws up there? Can I walk around with a beer in my hand? /thread unhijacked

Fayetteville and Oxford don't seem that similar. I went to the Arkansas game at Ole Miss this year. Fayetteville's bigger and has more to do. Make sure to visit Dickson and the square and all that stuff. Also try out Colombiamex since you will be so close. Very good.

If ur walking around, have it in a cup. While tailgating, no need for cups, just no glass.

On Dickson, its not like Bourbon or anything. Just remember that.

I have never once had trouble tailgating with any alcohol, but on Dickson be careful. They are pretty leniant during BBB and to an extent after games but will still write public intox tickets. Like others have said, it isn't Bourbon St by a long shot.

That is a very nice thing to say. And I agree, Fayetteville is a good-looking, clean city. Its a shame that the entrance to campus for most (6th Street/MLK) is the ugliest street in town.

And I'll still call it 6th street for a while, just because it was 6th street for decades and decades.

The MLK Blvd shite is played and stupid. Name it after a local hero, if anything. Johnny Cash Blvd, or Levon Helm Road, plz.
